I hate taxes

I just got my newest monthly mortage statement, and my ESCROW went up $166.00, grr. I really hate taxes! Has anyone else had their ESCROW go up also?

Yes, but by like $20. I had a low escrow account last year so this year they are making up the money used. :P

We use to get a notification in the mail how much our homes worth....they don't do it anymore cause you need to request them in the Maryland.gov website.....they might have increased your house value which is good but if you think it hasn't you can fight it to decrease the property tax..that or your hazard insurance went up.

I haven't received anything in the mail lately. I know mine went up 20$ last year. My property taxes would go down if I asked them to re-evaluate it right now.

my taxes are $8k/year, so be lucky with what you have! Property taxes increasing is BS b/c the sellers market is still sh*t. You should go to your local village/city hall and argue.

Why don't you just pay taxes at the end of the year in one lump sum? You can save at your own rate and you end up paying a lot less because you don't have to pay the garbage interest rates that come with escrows.

You just have to be disciplined about puting the money away and not touching it... otherwise you're up the creek.
