Thumbs down Back from the dealer 25+ PSI on MBC stock turbo. WTF!?!

Ok so I took my car back to the dealer to get an o2 sensor put on (so the CEL would go off) because I don't have the tools for it. And, it was still under 30 day warrenty. It took them 3 and a half weeks to put it on.

Sounds odd but they said they ordered a NA Lancer o2 sensor and that they needed the Evolution sensor. Ok, I bought that. (Not sure if NA sensor is same or not. I'm guessing not.)

Picked up the car today. Started up fine drove off fine. Got onto rt.1 and pulled off to a shell to get gas. Got gas back onto rt. 1. decided I haven't gone fast in a while so I was getting into it. Got on a full load in 2nd gear at about 3k rpm look down and my guage is saying 25+ bouncing up to like 27+ and next thing I know COMPRESSOR SURGE. Now let me remind you this all happened within like a second to two seconds. So I pull off and look have a look under the hood.

Turned the MBC back to about 18 but it looked like my turbo was smoking? Not sure but I think the turbo is shot. Before I took it to the shop it was set on about 18-19.

Another thing that really scares the poop out of me is this young guy at the shop. He loved my car (and I expect that) but it seemed like he had driven it. He asked me if i have raced it before. Blah blah blah. Well, anyway there was sticky **** in the cup holders and on the button infront of the cup holders. Looks like an IC spray button with auto and manual on it (not sure im a evo noob). But, that button was sticky and would barely move so someone drove/spilled something on it.

But, the reason for me saying this in Mid-A is where should I take my car? Mitsubishi or performance shop. I would rather not take it to mitsubishi because of the upgrades that are on it. And, if a performance shop which?

BTW I have only had this car for about a month and a week and the dealer had it for three and a half of those weeks. Only put 300 miles on it.

Sorry for the book here is a summary of what happend.

SUMMARY: Took it to dealer to get a o2 sensor put on so the CEL would go off. Got it back, MBC was set to 25+. When I got into it baddd compressor surge. Turned it back down to 18-19 and drove it very carefully. Turbo might be shot. Looking for a good shop to take it to or a good mitsu dealer.

If this is in the wrong thread please move it. I just want some support from fellow Mid-A evo owners.

You should really make sure you not only check your car out THOUROUGHLY before leaving any shop with it, but also make sure you know damn well how everything is before dropping it off.

Here are the important parts.....Go handle your business. There should not have been more than 5 miles put on that car or an O2 problem.

Yea it's all on the ECU flash forum but valet mode lets you set a rev limiter say when you go to a restaurant and you don't want a valet hauling *** in your car.

So it works by:
Have the car off but the On position and hold the gas pedal for a certain amount of time and the person that is driving the car or w/e can not go past the rev limiter you select.

Same thing to deactivate

Not sure on miles dealer put on. me being a dumbass forgot to write it down. btw my follow car said the was some black smoke at times and that it was smelling funny. idk im still very angry at myself and this dealer. I would like to file a lawsuit but i dont have any evidence except for the spilt drink in my cup holders and on that button in front of them. and the fact that my MBC was cranked until it wouldnt crank anymore. and i would never never never do that to my baby. Not until i get some stuff done atleast

I used to take my MBC off before putting the car in someone's hands that I didn't trust.

Normally when you go to mitsu they document everything and give you a paper/work order thing which states the mileage and what they will be doing. Look over that and see what it says.
