Vehicle inspection is different then emissions inspection here. During a vehicle inspection they will check all safety related things on the car (and then some) and check to make sure the exhaust is legal. They do check for a cat most places but do not do a obd or tailpipe test. That is done once you get an emmissions notice at a state run facility. There they do the obd test and seldom check for a cat beyond a quick peak. A cat shield will probably get you past the actual emmissions test if you don't have any cell issue but will not get you past a vehicle inspection because they will actually have the car up in the air and most of the techs doing them arn't morons like the state run emmissions places. We have a complete stock exhaust at the shop just for these occasions. For $80 we swap the exhaust for stock to get you through vehicle inspection. It is hard to buy an inspection in MD because they will take not only your inspection lisence but your drivers lisence if you are caught selling inspection tickets. Good luck and let us know if we can help!! P.S. - welcome to Md inspection laws FTL!!

I got off easy. I drove up for emissions and the guy looked under my car and said "looks like you are a little low" and gave me a 2 year waiver Worth a shot. Good to know that LMS does exhaust swaps though

My old Evo passed MD emissions with a full turbo back with a test pipe.

Wrong. 2 year waiver is for emmisions. You need an MD state inspection. Completely different.
