Basic alignment repairs in NoVA?
Basic alignment repairs in NoVA?
This may be out of the ordinary: I have a bone stock EVO 8 -- no bells or whistles. My only "upgrade" was the ASA rims and winter tires.
I had a service done at (now gone) Alexandria Mitsu, which was uninspired but just about adequate.
Last night, in the rain, I got tagged by a cell phone zombie. The right rear wheel took the impact. (Fortunately, the cheap ASA winter rims.) No body damage. The car still tracks straight, hands off, but the steering wheel is angled a few degrees to the left when driving straight now.
So I did the plumb bob toe-in measurement. By my calculations, the rear toe-in is now about 15.2 mm.
Reading over the reviews, there apparently aren't any recommended Mitsu dealers in the area. (I recently got a phone call from Ourisman about a recall sticker, but I'd never heard of them before.)
I'm guessing that correcting this is out of the adjustment range of the car.
So: should I take it to Midas, or do I have to put it on a truck and ship it out of state to get it fixed?
The woman that hit my car could even get off her cell phone even after running into me. She babbled about being in a hurry, then just wandered off. I'm almost ready to believe that the entire DC area population have reduced themselves to drooling imbeciles.
I don't want to drive it 100 miles to a shop. Do I really need to ship it "abroad" to get it fixed, or is this something a Midas or NTB could manage?
