I think Hanzo posted about this awhile back, but anyone in the Richmond area, (unless they are going to Mach V's meet); there is a Drift contest at Short-Pump mall. I'm riding down with a friend, he is going to drift his 98 hyundai accent ; Hanzo knows more, hopefully he can post up a link...

 

A drift contest at a mall? Umm...this sounds so unlike anything Richmond would allow anyone to do within 100 miles of here...

 

is it a legitimate contest or a gathering of kids in the middle of the night? and i've never heard of that mall in richmond.

I'm coming up with a buddy of mine, but I doubt I'll break the Scooby out to participate, just gonna watch and film. US Drift will host an open drift day on November 15th in Richmond, VA. Registration is only $35 and will be done on site. Registration will start at 8:00 AM.


At the event there will be driving instructors for those that wish for tips and driving instruction.


Cars must pass a basic tech inspection for safety, drivers must have a Snell rated SAE or M 1990 helmet. There will be loaner helmets but on a limited basis.


The event will take place at the Cloverleaf Mall at

Still amazing that they're allowing this to happen in the Richmond area, but I guess anyone coming along that's willing to pay ANYTHING for the Cloverleaf mall property can get what they want

I might drop by to watch, but I doubt I wanna punish the EVO in such a way I gotta make those Advans last as long as I can!

Yeah, NASA put up the last drift event at the Cloverleaf Mall. Cloverleaf mall has been pretty much abandon and turned into more less a motorsports park. AutoX are held there frequently. I was at the last drift event, pretty cool but mostly novice drifters, which were cool, gotta start somewhere.

I am pretty sure I'll go check out this one as well.

It was off the hook!!!! My first Drift Competition ever and I loved it, I got to ride with a Zebra Striped 350Z (Matt) who was a drift maniac (2nd Place in Englishtown), and a supercharged black Stang that tried like hell to drift (Jeff), my girl road with a black S13 240SX, and my friend had hell of fun in the Yellow Treuno, hopefully I can find pics, I'll post em up ASAP, I saw a black Evo with Sunroof and Evom stickers, and a White Evo, but didn't have time to say 'Hi' cuz I was busy getting rides in the drifter's cars!!!! I loved it and I think I caught the Drift Bug...

 

yeah man that was my black evo the zebra 350 was nuts one of my favorite drifts was the is300 though when he ripped off that one tire
