Well, I got a ride in an STi but my gf hates the looks, and is willing to consider an EVO. So here I am, despite the clutch of glass, rusting rear bumpers, etc.

Need following questions answered:

oil cooler? yes/no?

BIG WING - check

Good dealer with a good service department around the Washington DC, NoVA area (I know this is like asking for a moon, but one's gotta try)

Think if I get a new allocation, the water recall will have been addressed from the factory, and maybe the rear bumper paint as well?

How about the synchros?

thanks

are you buying this for you or her, cause if you're buying it for yourself, why do you care what she thinks

Oil cooler = yes

Very very (I said very) few people have this surface rust issue. Don't sweat it.

The undercoat recall has been addressed on all cars that were manufactured after the recall issue date.

Synchros? What are you talking about exactly? All cars will eat synchros if you don't shift them properly. I have only heard about 1 person who had synchro problems that could not be traced to their driving style....ie speed shifting faster than the synchros can mate up the speeds of the spinning parts will eat synchros.

Dealership? I like Sheehy in Manassas. They do well by me. They are not overly mod sensitive.

I will give sheehy a call. Where is the oil cooler? Is it oil/air or oil/water?

I heard some rumors that the gearbox was eating synchros, I must have been wrongly informed.

thanks for the help guys

Stohlman didn't impress me. My salesman was cool but the sales manager was a bit of a *****. I guess that's his job. My delivery came with no introduction to the car or video or even a mention of the PitPass program. Not even an introduction to the service manager.

UMMMM, fellas, are you serious about Sheehy in Manassas being 'mod friendly'? Who exactly gave you that impression? I spoke with the Master Technician, and the Service Department Manager (forgot both of their name's); and they seemed to be VERY much against modding....perhaps they've let up some...just curious...
