Question VAB transmission shop

I'm chasing a problem in my 116k mile 03 where shifting gears has become rather stiff, reverse is almost not possible to get without a lot of effort. If the engine is off, I can get any gear easily.

With the motor running and on a level surface (brake off) 1st or reverse will cause the car to roll in that direction slightly with the clutch in as I push it into gear. I just changed the oil, there was some metal on the magnet, and the fluid was dark but not completely opaque. I didn't see any crap in the oil.

Does any one know of where to take it in the Virginia Beach area?

Have you tried adjusting the clutch pedal?

Thanks, I'll have to look at that; it does feel like the clutch isn't disengaging all the way. This is the first time I've had to deal with the transmission on an Evo.

I have the lock nut loose, but am having problems turning the shaft.

Edit: Got it turned out, in the garage it feels better, I had to turn it out to about the last 3mm or so of available thread.

I adjusted the clutch; it helped some but reverse is still difficult. It also threw the friction point off of what I'm used to, makes it feel very weird. I don't like it. I have one reference to a local shop that does transmission work on VA Beach Blvd. I will probably go talk to them about it.

I say just get it rebuild by shep racing.. The best bet. Its going to cost them money just to repair it. So just have the whole thing built the first time. Costs about 1100-1200
