Sorry you got shafted. I've been there many times.... eventually people will get fed up with the tyranny of the typical police officer and do something about it. Who polices the police? Think about it.

Laws are written by a bunch of idiots that don't understand half of what they are writing and then get enforced by people who never grew up and definitely don't have a law degree, but somehow are given license to interpret and enforce the law....forcing you to deal with the judicial system that should just be called the fund-raising system. F it

That sucks, I hate Va cops, I had so many problems with them when I had my VIII, but haven't had any with my X yet ( same car as yours lol) but that is because nothing is done to it, completely stock, but I have heard of people being pulled for that as well, saying something is wrong with the car and it has nothing done to it. Glad that I drive mostly at night with a black car don't get noticed as much. lol

VA tried to pass a law that would have used decibel measurements but it died in committee.
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=704574

VA also tried to pass a 35% tint law but it too died in committee.
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2127806

I have had tint and/or an aftermarket exhaust for well over 8 years now and never had an issue with Fairfax County cops. Keep it reasonable and keep it stock looking and no one cares. (obviously there are always exceptions)

Sorry to hear about the shinanigans you had to deal with. Cops are out in force here in NYC too, I guess this is their way of dealing with all the snow removal costs.

I didn't think about that... there are more cops out mid month now than just at the end of the month filling up their quotas. I'm seeing lots more lights on the streets with cars pulled over than ever.

maybe if they fix the roads people wouldn't have to swerve into each other to avoid spine crushing car injuries...

The question I always have is if they are so worried about the exhaust level, why don't they pull over all of the Harleys or the old muscle cars running straight pipes through glass packs or cherry bombs....?

From what my law enforcement friends tell me, it's the exhaust note that prompts them the most, ie they can hear your car coming down the road from a good amount of distance, and even if they were doing other things, it will get their immediate attention. Even with stock exhaust around 4K, it is louder than your average sedan, so it's not a good idea to rev too high if you have a loud exhaust.

Unofficially, cops are being told to make up for all the tickets that were not issued during the snow storms for budget constraints, so be careful out there guys.

I forgot to mention this man.. The night I got the car I was driving down i81 at approx 0315 in the morning about an hr 1/2 away from where I live (not to mention its still in VA ) but I was traveling the speed limit either 60 or 65, i just had a feeling a cop was out.. and a trooper had a car pulled over, i got over in the left lane (since its the law lol) and proceeded on my way. About 5 minutes i see these headlight coming up on my a** almost as if he had to do about a buck 30 to catch up to me.. well he pulled me over and was pointing stuff out on the car, and i quote he said these exact words "umm sir, thats a nice hood (stock) i bet you paid a pretty penny for that, huh? i politely said no sir its stock (in my head thinking, wow your a dumbsh*t) & i think after that he didnt want to say anything about the fenders, or wing.. he told me to come have a seat in his car because where i just bought it i couldnt find the temp registration or even my license and just handed him my cac card and told him it might be a sec i gotta look.. ended up finding it and going and sitting in the passenger seat of the troopers car.. gave me a ticket for exhaust, and get this, having tinted tail-lights (jdm's).. (i thought to myself wtf dude, i wonder what he wouldve said had the stock ones been on there??) Non the less, i got two tickets and had not even had the car a full 8 hrs

oh the guy was a ex infantry marine.. haha i just thought no wonder hes a d*ck.. no offense to any out there but ya have reps lol.. so when i go home now i just go through north carolina, which is a way better drive.

va does suck when had my lancer gts i was pulled over going the speed limit in a 60 with cars going 70 passing me and the cop pulls me because of my tint... wtf he was on the other side of a 4 lane hwy. and then he measured it and it read 38% and the *** said that if it was 40% hed let it go?! ughh my first ticket and i wasnt doing anything wrong.

and then in the evo i left a gas station (car is stupid loud lol) going home and as i pulled onto my road 3 miles from the gas station a cop comes flying up behind me and follows me all the way to my house! then just keeps going. he was just trying to find something to write me for.
