New Evo

What’s up everyone? I have been away a lot this past year. Took my 08 Evo X back to stock to pay some bills, started a new job in DC, and have been trying to finish my MBA. So I didn’t really have much time for the car scene. For the first time in like 8 years I didn’t go to the June OC car show. I bought a DD eclipse last year and the Evo sat most of the time. I think i only put 3k miles on it last year so i could keep the value and get a good amount paid off. About 2 months ago I started house searching. As anyone who has bought one knows some toys have to go in order to do that. So i decided to sell the eclipse. I made ou8t pretty good on it and sold it about a month ago.

Well this past Monday I traded in my 08 Evo X and got a new 11 Evo X. Surprising I didn’t keep my Evo for more than 3 years I know I really wanted the sunroof and leather option they have now, and of course I got it with navi, the sss pacakge, and the aero kit options as well. I guess it’s time to put the mods from my old Evo back on it so I have some work to do over the winter. Hopefully I can get a house soon, then another DD.

Anyway, just saying what’s up to everyone I haven’t talked to in a while.

I hear you man. I just bought my first house and i close in 31 days. I put the down payment on it back in April. (It has been getting built). My DD Ranger needs a new oil pan and takes almost a full quart of oil every WEEK. So i have been DDing the Evo from Baltimore to Ft.Meade everyday for the past 2-3 months and now the evo has 91K miles on her .
When i move into the house one of the first things ill be doing is buying a new DD. Been looking at trucks than i thought i wanted better MPG. So now im leaning towards a BMW or VW or audi. I still dont know what i want. haha.

But welcome back. And good luck on the house hunting its a fun experience.

Also, the only reason i haven't replaced the oil pan is because in the 3.0l rangers you literaly have to pull the engine to replace the damn thing!

remove the upper intake, the distributor cap, and take the motor mount bolts out to jack the engine up to the sky and then it'll come out.. it wont be like butter but it will come out. but if you have the tools and patients to pull out the engine then more power to you

Hey man where are you getting your MBA from? I'll be graduating in the Spring from USF in Tampa and plan on moving back to Baltimore to find a job & MBA program.

I take it you've done it before? If so, any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!! As I think where I'm moving, my neighbors wouldn't like me leaking a quart of oil a week all over the street.

personally i've never done it myself, but i've seen it done while i worked at a ford dealership so tools and resources where at my disposal so to speak. like i said its a matter of a cherry picker and a lift of some sort. the inspection cover needs to come off of the tranny side and its a pain honestly if youve never done it. it looked easy but i seen it done by 15+ year experienced techs. so in all honesty if your trying to DIY, pulling the whole engine out is probably better as harsh as that sounds. leaking oil is no bueno to all

Towson and University of Baltimore do a joint program. You can do all online if you want. I think classes are much easier online, because open book tests and quizes. You can also do in classroom or a mix of both. Its a good school(s).

I'll have to look into it. I'm assuming you had to take the GMAT to get in. How difficult was that?

Congrats on the purchase! I noticed you weren't at the OC show this year but figured you "grew up". Did you end up marrying that girl you were with?

Got ya. Thanks for the help. I found a couple "How too's" online. With some helpful tips. I might take on this challenge.

Haha. The truck is a great DD. She runs great besides the oil leak. Wish the AC worked also..... but oh well. Changing this oil pan should be interesting.
