I was wondering if any of you race and if so is it autocross or carting or whatever. I am wanting to get into this summer and was just wondering how everyone got started racing. thanks

Autocross is a great way to start.

Find your local SCCA region. For Roanoke, this should do: http://www.brr-scca.org/

Find out where they are staging Solo II autocross events -- sign up for one. If they have a local message board or mailing list, sign up and introduce yourself. Ask about autocross schools or whether they have a novice program. Go to an event and have fun. Repeat as needed.
