Looking for Mod-friendly Dealers around Chicagoland.

It's for warranty work. Our former dealer in Crystal Lake no longer sells Mitsu, therefore, they can no longer provide warranty repair service. I did a search, but came up with nothing.

So Crystal Lake Mitsu dropped their dealership? I talked to them 6-8 weeks ago and at that point they were still expecting to sell 05's. Strange.

The guys up in Libertyville claim that they look the other way. That said I haven't used these people except to source OEM parts.

Yeah, my wife and I are friends with the sales manager. In fact, we recently bought another Mitsu from them this past September. They're narrowing their focus on Jeeps and Chryslers. Although a Mitsu dealer web search will still yield Crystal Lake as a Mitsu dealer.

Thanks. Libertyville is closer to home, but are they indeed "blind" and are they good? Our Evo is only mildly modded: springs, catback, and a couple of other little "flags".

I need to take it in for the fan recall as well. I need to know as well and I'm willing to drive to libertyville if that's the case. I have BR s4 setup with no cat and don't need any hassle from them. I know my drivetrain warranty is probably void but I want them to check the rattling crap in the car. I hope that is not void as well.

I haven't tested this, but Don Jacobs in Milwaukee, WI says they are mod-friendly. I hope to not have to test this. I don't know if this is too far of a drive for you, but might be worth a look. In fact, my car from Don Jacobs came with Evo 7 tailights, AMS exhaust, carbon e-brake, Mitsu-aluminum shifter and pedals.

i've been to libertyville as well. i've never had warranty work done, but i have purchased parts from them. they are VERY helpful/nice/cool. they also distribute RMR products. i actually purchased an RMR intake from them a while ago. they never mentioned anything about the warranty. they seem really cool. i dont know i guess the best thing to do would be to go there and talk to them in person. definately dont call...... its just better in person if you ask me.

Hi Bartek. You might be able to help. Where does Peter take his Evo?

We have been entertaining the thought of driving to Milwaukee, but only as a last resort--it is a bit of a drive.

We have two Mitsus in our garage, perhaps I'll let them work on the other one and feel 'em out. I ask this hate to say this, but with all of my cars, no matter how much I may have liked the techs/mechanics/service managers/salesmen/ sales managers at the dealership, dealerships, more than most, seem to foul up the work Are they any good?

Thanks for the responses.

They don't have anything about RMR on display. How did you find out that they are a RMR distributor?

Max Madsen in Countryside knows what's on my car and the only thing they ever said was just don't turn the boost up too high, and I like your rims.

Yeah, countryside has been great. They've helped me install gauges and even pointed me to the cheapest place in the neighborhood to get mobil 1.
