Shops near Grand Rapids, MI

where do you guys take your evo for tuning and getting some parts installed in Michigan? I live in Grand Rapids, and there aren't any tuners or shops around here.

No decals, not into it. My car looks stock from the outside except for the exhaust and perrin shorty antenna. I have seen another black one on the beltline a couple times. I know there is an awd dyno in town called AYA Racing. Its in grandville in the industrial area near 28th and Ivanrest. They have a site, its www.ayaracing.com. I was thinking about checking them out but now I am considering a custom dyno tune after I get a few more parts. It would be nice to know if there is somewhere close to get stuff done, but I would rather do the work myself.

I'm no Evo, but I've found that there just aren't a lot of shops in Michigan. There's a handful in the Detroit area, but at that point you might as well make the drive to AMS.

They might not be a tuner shop per say but they are an authorized TEIN Dealer and the Owner Andy has had a few EVOs including an RS he dominates Autocross with. The place is called Showcase Mitsubishi in Bay City and i have had good experiences with them when i needed to take the wife's old 3000GT there a few times.

I know this is off topic, but I also have a black evo and was literally blocked into my parking space tonight at a restaraunt by a guy in an older eqlispe (or talon maybe) telling me he had a black evo as well. Said he was a former racer for mitsu and that he sold alot of evo's for dirt cheap because he had connections with yet.

Anyone around here in GR know who this guy is? I am kinda skeptical as he didn't know that an 03 evo could come with a lower gt spoiler (which mine had) and never heard of a grounding kit before....(he had me show him what it was). If he is so into evo's i would have thought he'd know what was up with those two issues. Anyone know this guy? He said he's had six of them with in the past year or something like that. I just glanced at his car as I was leaving but it might have been an out of state plate, so I'm not sure he lives in the Grand Rapids area.

If his name is Tanacie then yes I have heard of him. He is a crazy 4g63 guy.
On the topic of local shops I have been to them all (seriously), all over the state. If you need any STRAIGHT up info PM me and I'll let you in on some good info. Peoples opinions of shop are like *******s, everyone has one... (so cliche I know).
