We could probably put one more together before the winter here at the shop. Let me know if you have any suggestions for a date and we'll work out the other fine details.

Well, back to this. I wanted to develop an "affordable" oil cooler kit with a Setrab core and possibly full surrounding baffles to maximize cooling. Yeah, well, my bright ideas are often the last ones to the party. HKS and Greddy make kits, but they are expensive and information on them is elusive (at least in my experience). I wanted to do something that was a bit more involved in the Evo community. Of course, I am technically "nobody" and just getting going as an Evo enthusiast (check my post count...). I could ramble further, but I don't want to bore anybody. Long story short, I see that AMS just released an oil cooler kit that has, oh snap!, a Setrab core. At least it looks like a Setrab core to me. Anyway, peep it out if you haven't seen it already (I'm slow sometimes, obviously...): https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=372691

I still wonder if anybody has any temperature info for given driving situations, air temps, etc. using the stock oil cooler vs. an aftermarket unit.

I know you guys are MOSTLY HIGH end tuners but there are a good group of people who are interested in doing a get together some time soon. Mostly Bimmer guys and so on. Would you guys be down to all get together for one Big Cars and coffee?

I still gotta check with Dave about getting those Fenders rolled lol(cars still in the shop).

I have no objection to bimmers or anything else. Evos are not the only thing we build here as most guys know already. I will be inviting quite a few guys that have other brands of cars. I was actually thinking of making this one more of an evening get together so even the guys that have to work on a Saturday can make it home, get cleaned up, and then head out.
Coffee and cars sounds like a great idea. Gimme some ideas of a Saturday night that would work out for most and we'll set it all up.

We have done multiple oil cooler setups on Evos over the last few years. Most have been one single larger cooler such as the kit you mentioned from AMS. We have also done twin oil cooler setups. I don't remember all of the specific data on oil temps since it has been quite some time since I did the initial test (approx 3 years ago). All of the kits were done with Mocal cores. To get the best quality cores and the best lines/ fitttings you will easily be approaching the price of the AMS kit.

That sounds good to me..... But how early do you think this will happen. I don't get out of work till 10ish so a meet would be great if it was a 1030 one.

We have done meets at Crocker Park in one of the Parking Garages there. the security Guard says its cool with him and its free parking.... WHOLE EMPTY FLOOOORS!!!!

Plus there are 2 bars there.

Thoughts.
