Boost Controller Settings

I have recently purchased a Boost Controller, and the person that may be installing it says that i can turn the boost level all the way up to MAX and i will be safe??? To me that seems a little nuts, but maybe i can, i'm not really sure, the EVO is my first turbo'd car, and i really dont know a whole lot about setting boost levels. Anyways the boost controller that i got was a Greddy Profec-B Spec-1. Can i crank it all the way up to max on one of the settings is it safe? Any other information wouldbe great!! I have also purchased the 3" TB Exhaust from Buschur racing. Will be in next week

Search for goodness sakes. I would not turn it up above 19psi, much above that and the timing starts to get pulled and it feels slower. Also if this is a manual controller make sure you source the vacuum and pressure from the manifold and not the turbo nipple. The turbo nipple will cause excessive spiking.

nooooooo. the only way this might not blow your engine and turbo is if you set your profec's boost limiter setting to stop that over boost or the BOV doesn't hold any more boost. but this would certainly cause problems very very quickly. 20lbs/1.38 bar of boost on stock fuel components is safe. you can up a couple of pounds with race gas. please don't turn it to 100%. here are some good starter settings and info on what your controller can do. g/l.

So basically DO NOT MAX it out, i mean yeah it has the overboost limiter on it, he was telling me that his friend had the Spec-1 on his supra, and he just cranked it to MAX and drove it like that for about 2 years with no prob.'s??? i just dont like the way it sounds for a set-up, also thanks for the thread on boost controller's, i'm kinda new, and i did a search, but didn't want to read 15 pages into a thread to find an answer that i figure someone could give me quickly, thanks
