Blue Evo on 294 southbound, around 9:30PM
It's around or after 9:30PM yesterday (8-18-05) and I am cruising in 6th gear in my blue 03 Cobra in the left lane doing around 70MPH with a friend. Speed limit is 55-60MPH. I-294 southbound between I-55 and 95th street exits.
I see a pair of HIDS in my rear mirror coming up FAST. Note that there is traffic back there, but nothing in front of me. He has a passenger, and slows a little near me and just takes off like a bat out of hell. Impressive Evo, it really took off fast and disappeared, and I saw flames coming out the tailpipe (probably between shifts). He was easily going over 100 MPH and I was like "what the hell, that guy is crazy!"
My friend goes "wouldn't it be funny if he didn't have IPASS?" Turns out he didn't.
So I coast through the toll ahead in the IPASS lane and about 1 minute later I see the HIDS again coming from behind - and THERE IS SOME TRAFFIC. The Evo pulls up next to me and looks over from the left side (I am in the right lane getting ready to exit @ 95th) and he pulls off like a bat out of hell, kinda weaving through the traffic and disappearing into the distance.
Nice car man ... but please slow down on the public roads when other cars are around like that, you know you have a fast car with AWD and you don't need to prove anything, your driving scared me and had me worried about the other cars around you. Help keep the Evo insurance rates down!
