Evo Club for WI, MI, IL, etc...
Ok, as most of you know, I do work for a dealership. As most of you also know, I own an Evo.
Because of these two things, I'm working with my dealer to create an Evo Club for local Evo owners.
Here's the issues:
We don't want to have to worry about having the club too big, because we want it more locally, due to events and whatnot. My dealer doesn't want to sponsor races etc, far away from the dealership. I can still see the states close to here working just fine as well, like IL, IN, MN, and MI.
Benefits though:
Discounts on all
parts and accessories... for any repairs, addons, etc. This will be HUGE when Ralliart parts become available. Also being one of the bigger
dealers in the region, with a lot of pull with many automotive organizations in the area, track time at places like Elkhart Lake (Road America) would be easy and simple through the club. Things like sponsored cars for races and group buys on parts would also definitely be something to consider as well.
T-shirts and hats and stuff could also be part of the membership. We already have some awesome logos done with some really cool badging to put on your car or decals for the window... (static clings, etc). I know we're definitely planning a couple "rallys" already where you take long drives through some good roads for driving and stopping at some local establishment for either a free or discounted lunch or a grill out or something. Having also Import shows where you bring your car to show off, kinda like a small auto show and it would be advertised, etc.
The possibilities are endless. The cost on something like this would be very small. I can see it being only something like $25 a year. We're not looking to make money off of this, but more to showcase the Evolutions and other cars like that.
Take a look at the website we're working on... it's really just a first step right now into something MUCH bigger. As we get people interested in something like this, it'll Evolve into what everyone wants.

count me in...
I would like to make a sub-chapter in Minneapolis though so those of us here can do smaller events.
sorta like the midwest RX7 club. This club is made up of 4 or 5 smaller clubs that have thier own events and get together for bigger events (like the June Sprints or any event at Road America). A structure like this would allow people in smaller geographic areas to do regular events with sub-chapters as well as larger events with everyone from the midwest.

Sounding good guys... Like all the ideas I'm getting. I created a new forum on the EvoClub.us site, so we can get some ideas rolling and my boss can see the interest...

To do it properly (and protect yourself and other officers of the club) you will have to incorporate with the state. I can actually provide some assistance in that.

I've also got a sponsorship offer from my local dealer. They've got a bunch of land, offered to set us up a tent, give away prizes, etc.
Kansas City is a good location for a regional get-together, right in the middle of the country... right on several major highways.
Just throwing that out...

I love the idea of an evo club, but what of those of us that own other models of the lancer? I myself have a 2003 OZ Rally US edition. Can I still be a part of this even though I do not have an evo?
