SATCAR open track event at Blackhawk April 15-16

FORMULA STREETAT THE FARMS
BLACKHAWK FARMS RACEWAY - ROCKTON, IL
APRIL 15-16, 2006

SATCARhas been offered an opportunity to share a weekend at BlackHawk with NASA Midwest. We will be having a practice, qualifying, and race each day so drivers can enter either Saturday or Sunday as single day events or both days. Each session of each day will be about 30 minutes so the races will be about 15 laps long. SATCAR will be having only one run group each day so the ENTRY IS LIMITED to 19 cars each day.

Drivers with at least two days of performance driving school experience are qualified for a SATCAR Competition License and can enter these races. If you do not yet have the experience, you can register for the NASA driving school being held this weekend. To find out more information about the driving school, visit: www.nasamidwest.com.

All cars will require AMB transponders for timing and scoring purposes. Transponders will be available for rent from SATCAR for this event. Numbers will be provided if your car does not already have them. Safety inspections must be completed before coming to the track.

Entry fees for this event will be $ 250 for a single day or $ 395 for both days.

BONUS - - for those drivers who have not yet obtained a SATCAR membership or Competition License, these will be provided FREE to all first time SATCAR entrants.

I did one of these events last season at Autobahn and it was a blast! A whole mix of cars, from IT7's to Supercharged NASA Mustangs, all competed. The IT7 car won! It was just like a open track event, 2nd to last session was a qualifier, last session was the race. For example the IT7 was, lets say 15 seconds slower a lap than the Mustang. 15 seconds x (whateverlaps) = how much later the Mustang would leave Vs the IT7. Theoreticaly, both cars should cross the finish line door to door if they run thier best lap over and over again. So Mr. consistancy wins.

It was great. And inexpensive too. And puts a twist on open track events putting some competition in to it safely. Passing is not allowed in braking zones or in turns, only on staights.

I'll be there! Catch me if you can!!!

Come on guys! This is a perfect way to get your car on the track and compete against other drivers and cars without the risk of getting tickets or getting slammed into.

Passing is only allowed on the straights. Just like any open track event with a twist. Plus you get in and get to see the NASA races and cars!

Plus you get a free SATCAR membership and comp license if you're new to the club!

Also the price has been dropped! I believe its to 195 for 1 day and $350 for the 2 day.
