Worried??? Nah, that'd be like worrying about it getting dark at night... Not a whole lot you can do about it.

You're a good sport Franz, hopefully they won't have to yellow flag you so I can catch up.

Picked up the RX8 last night. Pretty nice. I plan on being at Shawano on the 13th but I think I'm gonna try and get a rental car to beat up on for the day.

OMG you entirely sold out to mazda!

NOT TO GET OFF TOPIC:

Congrats on the new car purchase. I must admit the RX8 was the most balanced car I've driven but you aren't a low speed orange cone queen and from what I hear you don't heavily modify your track cars.

Don't you think you'll miss the power on bigger tracks?

Not yet. Theres a lot of different combos that work for the car and I'm trying to figure out the best grip for the buck. Classing is kinda weighing into it too. I can run a 245 in BS or a 285 in BSP or a 275 Falken in STU. I hope to have something by the next FVSCC autocross on the 20th.

I'm not gonna miss the power. I've never been on a track and wanted more power. Always more grip or more brakes. Even when I had my 170hp Mazdaspeed Protege. To me more power just means you have to brake earlier for the corner, go through at the same speed as before, and have to get on the gas later coming out. I'd rather just not have to slow down at all.

Interesting......

.........with a few mods to your evo you could have had more grip, more brake, and more POWER!

That being said you'll probably lap me at Shawano in your rental car!

I think SM is where its at!

The thought of being able to drive to and from events on street tires for STU is a nice thought but I'm spoiled from the grip of R compounds now. What my Evo needed after R compounds was stiffer springs. With race tires the body just could not keep up with what was going on.

You sure you want me to run STU Alex? I mean, getting beat by a car on street tires would be kinda embarrassing since you have 710s. I'll probably end up spinning out and crashing into a pole in Appleton on my first run.

Dominick, get yourself signed up!! I beleive you are the only Evo in Shawano. Everyone looks at me like the Alien's are invading whenever I drive around town up there.
