You should specify what this includes....

Is this a custom tune (dyno or street?) or just a base flash? What is included and what can be expected?

Are you guys doing any logging to tell if the car is gaining power? Like a g meter or anything? Im thinking most specifically when upping the timing...

How long will each car be tuned for?

Did someone at Devo tuning already try to tune people using ECUflash and forgot to save the stock maps for immobilizer codes or something? Somethings up, I just dont know what

One last question before I decide between this or an AMS base flash.

Is Adam REALLY going to be tweaking the timing map at all? I don't understand how he could without a dyno/g-meter, EGT, etc. Is he uploading the same timing map on each EVO and then just tuning the WOT AFR??

Im just trying to be realistic and am considering this service, not trying to bash anyone here...

Thanks again,

Justin

You can't get a base flash from someone who doesn't already have a huge database of ROMs for every combination of mods that has been tested in several Evos with 100% reliability. Devo will just need to custom tunes (as it seems they plan) with the proper logging and monitoring devices to ensure maximum safe performance.

AMS only recently started doing base flashes (if they did), because they didn't have a large database of ROMs when they started (for obvious reasons). They have been booked solid on the dyno for tuning for months in advance for a while now due to only being able to do custom tunes. They may now have enough ROMs to do base flashes, but there's no way Devo does, so I'd suggest AMS out of the two for a base flash. I don't know how well Adam can custom tune Evos with EcuFlash, especially IXs which are far more complicated, but if he's good, then that's a good option for the price. It's unfortunate that all these little shops who never bothered to invest in the expensive flashing tools before EcuFlash came out are now able to profit off free software without any up-front expense. Shops used to have to spend 5k or so on TechTom or a lot on EcuTek just to do flashes, and you can see which ones bit the bullet and made that investment for our benefit (AMS, Dynoflash, TurboTrix, Vishnu, etc.), so remember that, too...

It's unfortunate that it's increased competition in the reflash market? The only people it doesn't benefit are those that had the market cornered in the past, but as a whole it benefits the community.

Has anyone actually been tuned by Devo yet? Just interested in hearing some testimonials etc. I'm not real keen on being a guinea pig even though Devo has had some fast cars come out of their shop.
