My guess would be max 4 hrs or so. But you can jet out any time you want, it all depends on what routes we decide to take. I hope you can join us!

I was able to find directions by map quest which will take us from Colorado Mills to which can take us from 6th avenue to 170 to Idaho springs. We can stop there, and then go back on I70 to interstate 6 down to Golden. Or we can do the reverse of that whichever people prefer. If needed, I would be glad to print out a generic map for people to use on the road. Lets get some input on this. It looks to be about 30miles ~ or so to get there. So we figure

2-230 meet
230 - 315~ idaho springs
eat some grub (birdy num nums!!)
415 - 500 - back home

I figure worst case scenario should get people back by 600 if we hit some bad traffic.

So....survey says??

I even like an idea of going all the way up to blackhawk with the same path, and then take the back way to Golden. This gives more drive time, and good food at blackhawk....maybe even win some *****....oops I meant slots!! Cheers.

I mapped out a route from colorado mills to evergreen parkway to squaw pass which takes us right to idaho springs. I would like to do that if thats ok. Squaw pass is a one lane road which outstanding scenery and plenty of curves. THat is my idea, how bout we get some feedback about the two ideas thus far

Im good for that or whatever. It would be nice to not get stuck in a big line of traffic, but that can work.

I had not really taken that road much, so I am not really sure. All in all, traffic does not bother me too much. We will hit some whether we like it or not. If we are not planning on hitting real high speeds, that will be good. Unfortunately its hard to hit high speeds unless we do night drives. I know some great places for that when the time comes. So lets go for the view and take squall unless we get objections. Im not too familar with the road so if you could print maps, that would be helpful.

At the last big pirates meet we took squaw pass to Idaho Springs. It was a sunday and there was nobody on the pass. When there was somebody slower in front of us they would pull over and let us pass.
I would recommend this way, its a fun road to drive.

I'm down for the squaw pass route. Haven't been there before, but it sounds fun from what people are saying.
