Track Day GTG 2007
Taken from and posted for Pineapplemonkey on thecarlounge.net...http://forums.thecarlounge.net/zerothread?id=2936328
"I decided I'd take the main responsibility of making the GTG work this time around.
I need is your input on who would want to come. I have asked some elders and the majority is about doing this. Please no suggestions on something else. I don't want this to turn into a thread like last time suggesting we go somewhere else and it doesn't ever happen. If this works I'm in relations with the management to make this a yearly event or more.
Price would be dependent on how many cars we have. I MUST let them know before the end of december, as that's when the contracts go out and then I will need also 25% of the track rental fee for deposit. This can be setup so you can pay the track directly if you feel I'll skip town with the loot.
The Location. Joliet, Illinois
Joliet Autobahn Country Club
http://www.autobahncountryclub.net/index.html
HERE IS the pricing and all the different ways we can do this
Right away you will see that weekends are a lot more to rent, so unless we get a good amount of dedicated drivers, we'll have to stick to a weekday rental. Friday counts as a weekend.
Autobahn Track Rental Prices as of January 2006
North Track Weekday Rate $4,000.
North Track Weekend Rate $7,000. Friday Saturday Sunday
South Track Weekday Rate $4,500
South Track Weekend Rate $8,000 Friday Saturday Sunday
Club House $1000.00 per day (Optional)
March-November Full Track $8500 per day
Monday’s Full Track $8500 per day
There is also a charge of about $1600 for EMT's, fee for track officials and workers so add this into the price.
CONDITIONS
• Gate Open 7:00am
• Track is available from 8:30am-5:00pm
• All DRIVERS must wear WRISTBANDS before going on track
• Club hires qualified corner workers, including pit out
• No cancellation of weekend dates
• Registration personnel at gate house from open to close to get waivers signed and monitor admittance by club members only.(They can register participants for additional fee listed above)
• All food, beverages, service, equipment including, but not limited to wrecker. Corner workers, rescue, fire, ambulance or EMT services must be arranged by track.
For safety since this is not a racing event, all you would to race is:
Your car passes tech. This is something I will be enlisting help in or pay the track to take care of to make sure every car going on the track is safe for racing. Good tires, brake fluid in check, brake pads, etc.
A certified helmet. If you have a convertible or hardtop, this is all you need along with seatbelts or harnesses.
They will have regular gas and racing gas available at the track if you need to fill up.
If anyone has questions feel free to PM me or post them here and I will try my best to answer them as quickly as possible.
PS - I have not added any costs for my time for setting this up nor will I.
I will have a video crew there to take movies and pictures of the event. There will most likely be a DVD of the event if this goes through.
Members Attending. I'll update as needed Anyone wanting to be added, please PM me."

Btw, the north track is cool and all, but kinda short and redudant. If possible, I'd suggest going for the south. I've never been on it, but like the looks of the layout.
I also wanna say that the conditions of the track itself when I was there last year were top notch!
Edit - I read on the above link about prices. Thinking in the neighborhood of $180-$250. If you can do it in the $150-200 range; you'll get a lot more interest - including me! Someone did 2 events there this year. The North for $150 and the South for $200 there; not sure if they lost $$ or what or the total size of the groups.
Also looks like 18 people signed up for it on the site - that's some pretty good interest thus far; so looking good.

There's a full course date on June 4th I think; so if this one is in July that'll be a nice gap and no issue.

The date so far that has been pencilled in, but most probably will change due to the fact that this event may get a lot bigger is July 26th 2007.
Any date changes, I'll post here but for more updates you can check the first link Kunal posted up top.
Price will be dependent on how many cars show up. Expect to pay anywhere from $200-250 for a one day event. If we go to a two day show, the prices will raise a little bit.

Btw, if it's on a Thursday (July 26th), I'd expect a lower turnout. If it's gotta be a weekday, try to a Friday or Monday to help with travel time - just a suggestion.
