New EVO owner in Philly--where are the others?
New EVO owner in Philly--where are the others?
Yeah, this post may get moved to the regionals section, but I figured to get as much showtime here as possible so...
I've had my Apex Silver EVO for a week now and this is my first post so nice to meet everybody!
Break-in is done today and it's time to drop the bomb -- this car is so #$%! MEAN. The words I think of when driving the EVO: primal, planted, eager, exact, minimalist, functional, visceral; and from what I've read "scalpel, elastic..." I really think it's one of the most unique cars out there on the road both in feel and looks.
I've never had so many people make comments on it before and trust me, that's not why I bought it -- this car is made by drivers for drivers. I think the attention is due to the fact that it looks so aggressive in-person, especially w/ the silver color bringing out the flares, curves, and bulges on the car. I had this same reaction when I first saw the car whereas I thought it was painfully ugly when I saw it in the mags. I've seen long looks from a speed biker pulling up and riding w/ me (pumping fists and all), an E46 M3, an '03 STI, Corvettes, all the salesmen from dealerships, and so many random people -- it's all been cool
I get the feeling that those people know what the EVO can do from what they've read and they respect. It's nice to know that this has been proven to be one of the best driver's cars in the world, not for bragging purposes, but b/c I know I'll grow into it as a driver for years to come. It will never be b/c of my car...
Oh yeah, the original topic: where are all the Philly area EVOs? So far I've only seen mine, a yellow in Cherry Hill, NJ and a black one on the Blue Route. Not that I mind being unique but I know there is a real camaraderie for anyone who buys this car, so where are you guys? What could be more devastating than a pack of EVOs ripping it.
Hope to hear from you all.

What are you doing waiting? Prestige Mitsu in Turnersville, NJ https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ght=msrp+xtnct got the exact car I wanted in like 2 days, and under MSRP too! Why don't you give them a call, have a chat with Chris Z. and tell him I sent you (silver EVO). He may be able to get you the car faster and cheaper.

hollah, hollah!!!
I smell a GTG soon boys! Yeah, I got mine from Prestige and like I said on another post, they are able to get the EVOs in 2 days. One word of caution, and this is just my experience, but looking back they located a black one for me, but never gave me a VIN definitively. The day my EVO came in they said oops the VIN was actually for a silver one (my second choice) and not a black one, sorry. I was so eager to get the car, I didn't care, but I still wonder if they didn't know all along that it was a silver one, or that it was coming anyway -- maybe that's why they can get anything in 2 days... Again, no offense b/c they made it happen so I'm thankful.
We gotta get together and start talking about what these cars can do and what we can do to these cars!
I'm coming from vwvortex where the flow of knowledge is amazing and the camaradarie has been awesome. BTW, I just got the Perrin antenna for the EVO (little 4-inch thing) -- looks really cool.

$25 shipped right now from Nino's. This thing is very short and is aluminum, not rubber.

The antenna looks similar to the S2000 antenna that some have switched to. Could you post a picture of your new car with the new antenna...
Thanks
