Thanks for the info! That is the exact setup I'm running, so I should have no problem. This takes some weight off my shoulders.

IL will not do the sniffer on our cars. I was a little concerned when all the workers came over to check out my car when it was running, thought a human sniffer would detect the lack of converter but it was all good.

Uh, yeah.

Only had to do it on 1 car; seems I trade them off too fast!

I just got mine done. It took four minutes (No exageration) from the time I pulled up to the time I pulled out (Come on now...pervs)with my passing certificate. It was the easiest thing I've done. They pluged into my computer, and that was it. I have a 3" TBE with cat-delete (Perrin with the O2 sensor relay), among other mods.

Here in Ohio they use a mirror to look for a cat. I guess in Il they don't check for it? Or do you guys make it look like it is cat?

Yeah here in Oregon the test took less than 1 minute for my '95 Pathfinder. They threw a sniffer on the tail pipe as I pulled in, looked under the car with a mirror, took the sniffer off, and asked for $21.

So, even if my Evo passed emissions, the test pipe would NOT pass the visual inspection...

That's crazy. They don't look under the car for a cat, they don't hook anything up to the tailpipe, and they certainly don't charge anything. Illinois mandates this, so they don't make us pay. I'm as shocked as you are. I kept my stock cat knowing that I would one day have to do this, but I thought I would try after hearing other guys pass with a test pipe. That really sucks for you guys. Sorry.
