Do you go out of your way?

To get service at a certain dealership? I am nearing 2000 miles on my evo now and so I want establish a relationship with a dealer.

I've been reading around trying to get a good feel for who I should go to. There really isn't a dealership that is close to my place (fox lake) so I think I will have to drive a decent amount regardless. I've read good about Renner up in WI, the Elgin dealership (the name escapes me), and Libertyville. Out of all of those Libertyville is the closest, but I also saw some mixed reviews on them. My car is stock, but i will probably do light mods some day (anything i can that doesn't require me to open up the engine minus a turbo upgrade). So I want to take that into consideration when looking for a dealership. So, with that being said, any advice I can get from the chicagoland evo owners would be much appreciated.

Also, what are you guys using for fuel? I was pretty much only BP ultimate until the recent developments with the increase in dumping of toxic materials into lake michigan. So I've been putting shell ultimate in if I can, but is mobile a decent fuel? I try to stay away from citgo, clark, and all those place. I've never really seen much quality in their fuel.

Don't know what to tell you about keeping your warranty going to dealerships around here - I assumed that the same regional manager would be in charge of making decisions for all major warranty-eligible repairs in the area, so you'd get the same "we're not covering your repairs" answer regardless of where you go if you modified the car (I'm staying stock for the foreseeable future).

I put Shell in my stock IX MR - seems to make the car run quieter (less lifter tick - at least that's what I think it is at 10k+ miles), but it's not like other oil companies don't have similar issues. Gas seems to be like that, unfortunately.

Besides, I read on some thread here that switching gas stations (and the associated additive packages) will keep your injectors, etc.. cleaner (since the additives apparently have some specificity on the molecular level). Don't rely on my word though - I'm sure you could find the tread if you do some searching. I'm personally switching between Shell and Mobil (which is ExxonMobil, the largest oil company of all - so I'm guessing they don't sell some random crap gas).

I go about 20 miles out of my way to a mod friendly dealership instead of the local (5 miles away) dealership. I'm in a metro area, so it isn't that big of a deal for me.

When my Lancer was turbo'd I was going to a BP or Mobile for 7cent increments between octane levels and 93. Now that places are charging 15 increments I've found a place that only does it for the "standard" 10 cents. I don't know if that's 91, 92, or 93 however.
