i may not have the evo at the meet saturday. got into a small fight with a snow bank that was all ice. cracked the bumber & ripped off part of the lower lip, so it should be in the body shop by the end of the week.

I'd go but my car is garaged with a dead battery and still wearing slicks and race brake pads, plus it's ready to have a roll cage installed so it's kinda out of commission at the moment. Once it gets warmer out I'll make the next one

Yea, but I'd rather drive the Evo to an Evo meet

I drive my EVO all year round, sun, rain, snow, auto-x, track .... That's half the fun of owning an AWD car. If you're going to garage your car why even bother buying an AWD car?

To keep it clean and rust free. Thats why I garage mine anyway in the winter.

Besides it is a mitsu and a race car, can't depend on it really. At least I can't from previous 4G63 experiences. lol

I was once like many of you. My old 98 GSX and 2005 Sti were all garage queens for the winter. I have finally realized that I cannot keep my car perfect so why the heck not just drive it all year round and enjoy it. Yeah she will get a little dirty and get a few more rock chips but hey when spring comes she will get a bath and all waxed up.

Rollbar also to any of you have have a rollbar 4 point not cage do you have any pics and also where did you get it done. I have been limited to the 1/2 mile the last 3 years at the SORC because I do not have one. I would like to do the mile this year so I am looking at options

Haha ... it's actually the wife's car and I only drive it when I need to feel the awesomeness of a whooping 109HP (aka every other week) ... Works wonders on the MOJO! Most of the body of the EVO is galvanized and the underbody is coated with anti-rust crap (= little to no rust). I've actually been monitoring the underbody of my car to see if and when it starts rusting and to my surprise, there's been little to no rust. The only things that usually rust a little are the bolts and nuts. The thing that bugs me the most are all the rock chips I have on my hood, fenders and roof, but to avoid that I would have to completely clear bra the front of the car or not drive it ... That's not really an option with a daily driver. Either way is not a Porshe, Ferrari or Lambo ... so I would rather just drive and enjoy the car, to each their own.

As for a roll bar I've looked at the autopower ones if the past (http://www.autopowerindustries.com). I've contemplated getting the street sport one installed in the car but I'm not sure of the direction I'm headed with my motorsport activities yet ... if you get one let me know.

Honestly, if you spend the money on maintenance rather than modding, a Mitsu should last a very long time. My GSX has been my daily driver for 18 years now, and I still like it a whole lot better than my Evo.

I drove mine last year in the winter, but this year I have a truck and trailer, plus the car is stripped and wears r-comps and race pads...I'm too lazy to change them when I don't really need to.

You must have a really nice GSX then... I've always want a GSX but could never get the right one. SO I bought an Evo
