Illinois Evo Pics
Not sure if anyone can help me out. But does anyone recognize this Evo? We got it from a guy in IL (Carol Stream), and he told us the previous owner had the car tuned/built at AMS. The guy we got it from didnt have any of the records and we are trying to figure out if AMS really did anything to it. So I need the previous owners name to find that out. I know this is a big long shot, but let me know if anyone can help.
This might be a longshot, but at least a few speed shops around here (and I believe AMS may have done this at one time) used to send their ECUs out to be reflashed; this pre-dated the easy availability of EcuFlash talent. In those cases, it's pretty typical for the customer's name to be written somewhere on the ECU enclosure, typically on the factory part number sticker. (It's mounted behind/under the glove box; if you're trying to locate it.)
In the case of my own car, I was able to track down the original owner's posts here on EvoM, and now have a fairly complete mod history for it prior to me acquiring it.
If you have the means to pull the flash from the ECU (a friend with a Tactrix cable, perhaps?), and are willing to email it over, I can pretty quickly tell you if anything was changed on it compared to stock. PM me if you want a hand with that, I'm happy to help.
