I have the works short shifter for my X and i love it. It angles the shifter a bit towards the driver which i love. Before i had my short shifter i would hit my passenger in the leg when shifting into fifth. This has not happened once since i put the short throw in it. I love the new shifter, just sudo wish i put in the shifter bushings at the same time to make it a touch tighter. Im used to the B&m ripper shifter from when i had a C5 vette. THAT was tight. But i would never go back to stock. I felt liek i was rowing a BOAT.

thanks for the replies, i know it has to be better being that it shortens the length from gear to gear with the different bends. i was just wanting to here the same name across the board to make my decision easier. i have trouble with third sometimes, this is in reference to the track only. looking to go real low 11s or maybe even real real high 10s and i suck but thats not stopping me! thanks again for the replies

I had the B&M non adjustable in my evo 8 for 3 years. Loved it. Easy install and great reduction!

I have the ebay short shifter that comes with aluminum base bushings.
Also i installed the speed source Underhood bushing and Fortune Auto Counterweight Shiftknob.

All have to say at first i didnt really like it but u get used to it.

The shifter will feel very stiff and takes more effort to get into gear but goes in a bit smoother. But going into every gear feels very solid.

I noticed when it was all stock while shifting it felt very notchy but not as much anymore.

Link to the parts i ordered for those who want to know

Short shifter

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...viewitem=#LIST

(when i received the item i had to use a die and smooth en out the threads a bit)

Shift Knob

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...nobs-46mm.html

Underhood Bushings

http://www.speed-source.net/products/shifter_cable.htm

Also to make the install smooth i order these OEM parts from RussellM

Order 1 Upper pivot cup (part # MR246296 Retainer+gearshif

Order 2 #MR232147 tiny cups for ball ends

btw the shifter is fullly adjustable that make the knob angle a different direction. ( Mine is angled toward driver seat)
Also it has a aggressive setup or a semi aggresive setup.

To use the aggresive setup u have to modify the stock shifter box, basically just cut some plastic around the lower right cable.
