Intercollegiate Autocross League

Hey Everyone,

A friend of mine (University of Illinois C-U) and I (Bradley University) both started motorsports clubs at our schools and are looking to expand operations. If you attend a college/university in the Central Illinois region, let me know if you're interested. We are trying to set up an intercollegiate autox shootout in october. If that goes well, we are going to try and turn it into a club sport. In order to do so, we need some dedicated students who can set up clubs/teams at their school. If you're interested in talking to me about doing this, let me know. My email is bumotorsports@gmail.com.

The general set up for the league of what we're looking at now is having about 10 schools participate, with 5 drivers each - then doing everything by pax times and assigning points and whatnot. Location TBA, but we're looking in the timeframe of early October

- Sam

I go to purdue which is only about an hour maybe hour and a half from U of I. I'm sure our car club would be interested. I'll run this by them and see what they think. We go autox-ing, drag racing, road racing, etc. The car club is called PAPA (Purdue Automotive Performance Association) and the website is www.purdue.edu/papa

Hey - let me know, or put me in contact with your group prez or something.
do you guys ever come out to autocross in rantoul/parkland? Our hope is that the events will be run all around in Cent. Illinois so not everyone has to keep driving to way east Illinois. I personally was hoping to hold this event in Bloomington consistently. We are toying with the idea of making it into a "season" sport but for now we're just going to have a single annual or semiannual event, aiming for Oct. this year

Hey - Sorry, for now we're trying to stay in the Central IL area - There are so many schools up in the northern part of Illinois, so I don't know how we'd work it out - I'll definitely let you know, shoot me an e-mail once you decide what school you're in

Thanks all!
I'm not sure how willing MSU Racing would be willing to come down to race in the Central IL region for a day - It is about 5 hours away from where our first even will be lol

bump for anyone who is or know of anyone who may be interested!
