Just a little heads up to those of you wanting to hang around with some fellow SCC's. FocalJet.com Team Midwest is having it's 2nd annual Columbia, MO meet on Oct 19th.

Anyone is invited. Last meet we had over 22 Focus' (16 ZX3, 4 Sedan, 2 SVT), 1 Mazda MP3 & Protege5, 1 Civic SI and no Evo/Lancers. We have two caravans that drive from St. Louis and Kansas City and we meet together in Columbia.

It's a fun DAY LONG event that is pretty inexpensive to become involved in. We do some spirited driving ('safe' distances only), make fun of each other and have a general blast. Anyone interested in comming along is welcome to add themselves to the official list of people attending. This year we have atleast 1 Evo confirmed going and possibly more, so don't feel outta place.

Thanks for the invite Ed! Sounds like a fun gtg worth considering. Is there a site/link to info regarding the event and list you mnetioned? Let us know and perhaps you will get some additional Evo participation.

I know that there is one guy who frequents this board that lives in Columbia, and I live in Warrenton which is only about an hours drive away from Columbia.

Wow, I was really surpirsed to see that post from maxis24. I am also a member of FocalJet and I was planning on attending this meet. I browse evolutionm.net occasionally because I have a close friend with a silver Evo VIII, who I think is the same one that is planning on attending the meet that maxis24 was referring to, and I bumped into this thread.

Anyways, it appears that maxis24 hasn't answered some of your questions, so I figured I would come in and try to answer them. Basically, like maxis24 already said, the meet usually consists of groups from Kansas City and St. Louis and I even think there are a couple people from mid-Missouri. The meet is scheduled for Oct. 19 at Cosmo Park in Columbia if anyone knows where that is.

The Kansas City group is planning on meeting between 8:00-8:45am Sunday morning at the McDonald's near College & Quivira or just off of I-435. We plan on leaving McDonald's by 9:00 and caravaning to Odessa and then Columbia.

Now I don't think that the St. Louis crew has any specific details worked out yet. But as soon as I find out anymore info, I will be sure to post it.

Once in Columbia, we plan on having a BBQ so bring enough food and drinks for you and whoever else you bring along. Also, if you have lawn chairs or anything else like that, you may want to bring it also. There has also been some talk of a little RC Car racing, so if you have one, bring it along. After the BBQ and whatever else, we will head off for some "spirited driving" as said above.

If you have a FRS radio or CB or anything else, bring it along also. I think the KC crew will be set to Ch. 8 on the FRS radio.

Well looks like I am out, as I forgot that I am supposed to take my daughter to some kind of GM driving challenge in St.Louis on that day. Sorry to miss it as it sounds like it will be a fun event though.

Btw-I actually mentioned this gtg to a Focus SVT owner in Wentzville yesterday. He wasn't aware of the event, and was interested, hope thats alright? That SVT with euro package is a really nice car with Recaro's, HID's, etc.... .This guy and his cousin both have the same cars only one is yellow the other orange.

I'm the one from Columbia that N10S mentioned earlier in the thread. I guess since I'm in Columbia, I wouldn't have much of an excuse not to show up, would I? :P Plus, Cosmo Park is right by my house. I'll check out the thread on FocalJet.com.

Great! Please feel free to go ahead and post on Focaljet to let some of the people there know. Also, it looks like I made a mistake in my previous post. The meet is on Sunday, October 19. Before I wrote down that it is Saturday, but it is Sunday. There should be atleast one other Evo from Kansas City coming.
