SE Michigan - Moran - great service!

Just wanted to let the group know of my great service experience at Moran Mitsubishi in Southfield.

My Evo IX had the typical peeling Brembo's and some paint flaking off the front grilles. The car otherwise is in great shape, but has ~36K miles and is my daily driver, even in the winter.

Took the car to Moran, and they took lots of pictures for their rep, and they approved 4 new Brembos and new grilles. If I were paying out of pocket the bill would have been close to $5200. And it was all covered under warranty.

Martel the service advisor is great to deal with. And Craig the service tech is the guy you want working on your Evo. He knows Evo's inside and out, and is a super nice guy as well.

for great service!

Just had more warranty work done at Moran (Craig). He replaced my driver's seat bottom and rusted downpipe all under warranty (42K miles). I really can't say enough about this place.

Martel isn't the service advisor anymore - the new guy is Kevin and is also super cool. If you want to know if something can be warrantied or not, go see these guys.

The quality of Craig's work is awesome, and he's a super nice guy to boot. Definitely knows his way around an Evo.

btw the people that prove you brembo change is Mitsu headquarters not Moran, all they do is take the pics and install them.

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
Showcase is the Mitsubishi dealer of choice for most of the mievo crew. Andy is top notch.

Many of us had less than great experiences at Moran.

You know, I've spoken to Andy at Showcase via phone and email, and he seems like a super knowledgable guy too.

I went to Moran simply out of convenience (closer to home) and have had nothing but good luck.

Maybe there's a couple different technicians working there..........I always request Craig, and always have great service.

Just sharing my $0.02 for anybody in the Detroit metro area that doesn't feel like driving all the way to Bay City.

This is 100% true, erald01. BUT, it takes a good service advisor/technician to go through the effort to TRY to get Mitsu to warranty those parts.

I've been super straightforward with Craig (even when there's been a few non-OEM parts on the car), and all I can say he'll pull whatever strings he can to make you a happy customer.

I bought my Ralliart from Moran. I serviced my previous Lancer there a few times. I thought Martel was an awesome guy, too bad he isn't there anymore. Even though Moran is closer to where I live, I actually make the drive out to Ann Arbor Mitsu. I don't know why but the guys at Ann Arbor just strike me more pleasantly. Besides Martel, I just get rubbed the wrong way at Moran. After my first oil change ($90) on my car, which I did through them, I never went back. I don't like how pushy they can get. I feel they try to squeeze every dollar out of you.

I wish Showcase was closer to where I live. I'm going to have to check out the one in Wayne, since it's closer to where I work.

Well, Martel isn't a service advisor there anymore. Kevin, the new service advisor seems like a great guy.

I guess my $0.02 is if you're looking for a guy that's not going to give you hassle about legitimate warranty work, go see Craig. If there is valid reason to warranty something, he'll do it.

I can't comment on prices that much, but isn't that pretty standard dealer to dealer?

I've had non-warranty work done there, too, and didn't feel it was outrageous. Still expensive ($96 / hour labor), but not outrageous.
