Unhappy fellow Missouri Evo owner needs a job

It's been a tough couple of months for me. I got laid off from a job with an engineering firm 2 months ago, 1 month after I bought this expensive car. I've been able to make ends meet for the past few months with money I had saved from freelance work, but it's getting uncomfortably close to me being broke. I'm in the CAD/ graphic arts field with 5+ years experience. I also have 3 years experience in network administration, and I extensive knowledge in computers. I also have extensive sales experience. I was planning on working with a firm that produces 3D flight simulators, but the corporation decided not to hire anyone at this time. Corporate America is kicking my *** right now. So if any one can help me out I would greatly appreciate it, the job market isn't looking to great right now from what I've seen and I have no leads after looking for 2 months nonstop. The next step sadly is selling the Evo, and I love this car to much to part with it. So if anyone knows any place looking for work that will pay around 37-42k a year, please help, I'm willing to do anything.

I have a few contacts that used to be involved in CAD and graphic arts. I will make a few calls to see what I can come up with for you later this week.

I understand your dillema as I went from a six figure salary to having to get really creative to make ends meet. I would tell you that holding-out for a job that pays $37-42 may be a tough walk.

I personally couldn't find any work in the telephony field right away, and ended-up taking a job at the local Home Depot as a Millwork specialist. Oh, and my wife went to work as well working at night to off-set my day work.

Luckily, I landed another Vp role recently with a start-up, and although I have ownership stake, my initial salary combined with my wifes is still less than half of what I was making in the good old days.

The point to all of this, is that never be too proud to take whatever you can to make ends meet. Sooner or later things will get better, but you need to get a plan together and know how low you can go. If you have to sell the car, its not the end of the world, and you will have others in your future.

For me being an executive caliber guy suddenly making $14 an hour at Home Depot, was actually a great experience. To be honest it may have been what I needed... a little bull**** thrown in the game, some hassle's and struggle's, still feeling like a VP but being treated like hired-help. Its character building at its best.

Hopefully you will get back in the groove without too much pain, but if it has to be then get tough and figure it out. It will all work out in the end as long as you keep your attitude straight.

I will let you know what my contact produce later this week.
