Looking for an MR in West Michigan for a test ride

I'm looking for anyone in the West Michigan area who has an 08-10 MR that could take me for a ride. I'm considering one that i would daily drive for work (100 miles a day average) and want to see what the ride quality is like as well as how the tranny works. Neither dealer nearby has an MR to my knowledge and if they did, I doubt they're letting test drives on it. I'd be happy to trade a ride in my NSX if someone was interested in that.

Not near you, but I have one and love it. Not sure if I would love it for a daily commute of 100 miles. The seats are comfortable for the most part. But if you are a big guy, that may be an issue. There isn't a lot of padding or give. Plus they are narrow in the behind

The transmission in normal mode functions very similar to normal automatic. But when you need or want to have some fun, sport mode is just a click away. Which dramatcilly changes the livlyness of the engine.

Also, your only going to get 15-20 mpg on premium gas. So it will be more expensive then most cars to drive.

It's a fun car and also a sportty car with a sport tuned suspension. Driving 100 miles everyday may get old in this car. But I say that with a grin, because I love my car and wouldn't trade it for the life of me.

Hope this helps.

i commute ~80-90 miles on my X MR from chicago to the burbs. on highways or in traffic, its great. the SST really helps: its got a great dr jekyl and mr hyde character that makes it great for cruising or spirited driving. i decided to get the MR because the SST suited my needs perfectly.

the other stuff is just gravy. the suspension is firm but not jarring, even on chicago's potholed roads -- then again, i'm coming from a 91 mr2 turbo with street/track setup. the other thing i like about it is the sound insulation and the lower gearing: when i'm cruising at highway speeds, its very quiet inside and i only hit 3000rpm at 70mph (the gsr revs higher at 70mph and is noisier -- something that could get annoying on MI's 75mph highway i bet). indeed, a female friend remarked that she thought i had wimped out and bought a family sedan before a mildly exciting overtaking move on the highway put some grunt in the exhaust. if u get the tech pkg, the sound is very good after some equalizer tuning. personally i like to setup the sound stage in front of me, the driver and pump up the bass.

the only bad thing i can say is the seating position. if i move the seat all the way forward, my hands can almost grab the steering wheel at a comfortable distance but my legs feel cramped and ache after a while. if i move the seat 1 notch back from all the way forward, i feel like i'm reaching for the steering wheel, but my legs feel better. the gsr should hv a similar issue.

after putting some miles on it, the dash is telling me i'm getting ~24mpg on a 60/40 highway/local mix when i'm lightfooted.

hope that helps. good luck with your search.

I might actually consider a GSR if one popped up seeing as all I really want from the MR is the steering wheel controls, and some different rims than what comes on the GSR. And I could add Navi later as well. I just thought it was absolutely insane to not put steering wheel controls on the GSR...

I'm not buying anything next week, but I'm hemming and hawing over a used Vette as well, and the crazy thing is a vette would get better mileage... I'm just thinking something a bit more exciting than my Ridgeline but not as punishing as my nsx with a koni/eibach setup (I'm beat up by the end of the day but will never get rid of that car).
