We are going to start some where in Aurora at some time taking some route. I know I have a few guys already that are going. Just wanted to see if anyone else wanted to join and then we could all agree on details here.

Name with car you are taking would be nice too. I know some of you guys didn't plan on taking your Evo/Lancers.

 

We will be meeting at Fox Valley Mall in Sears parking lot at 7:30am and leaving at 7:45am. Be there or be squared! The ROUTE we're taking.

My wife and I are coming down; depending on where in Aurora you're leaving from, and how early, we'd probably be up for meeting somewhere for a caravan.

Are you thinking of taking Rt. 59 down to I-55, or shooting over to I-39/Rt. 51?

We were thinking 59 down to I55. This is my first time going so I'm not really sure whats a good time to leave/be there.

If anyone has any suggestions on time and actual place please shout it out. I'm think somewhere around Fox Valley mall.

59 to I-55 makes the most sense if you're getting together around the mall, yeah. Put us down, we'll be up for a drive.

One warning about passing through Joliet, FYI: I was nailed last year around this time for a noise violation for the exhaust on the Evo driving northbound on 59 through Joliet just south of Caton Farm Rd. So it might be a good idea to lay off a little on the throttle through there until you hit the expressway, or hop on 30 from 59 and avoid Joliet altogether.

 

I think 59 to 55 would be the best. That's the route we took last year.

Yea, we won't be going through Joliet. 59 to 30 to I55. There's construction on rt59 from 30 down to Jefferson and I want to bypass that.

I'd forgotten about the construction between 30 and Caton Farm, good call.

+1 on picking a parking lot; maybe over by Sears, so we're near the exit?

Also, might be a good idea to announce a departure time. It's a two hour drive according to Google, so leaving around 8:00 would probably be reasonable (assuming we drive a little faster than Google expects, it ought to be enough time to navigate any construction; looks like I-55 has a bit just south of I-80 around Arsenal, but otherwise looks pretty clear all the way through to Normal).

 

I'd say meet at the sears parking lot too and be there at 7:30, leave no later than 7:45.
