LIDAR tickets being thrown out in Cook County

Slashdot: http://yro.slashdot.org/story/09/11/...eeding-Tickets
Chicago Tribune: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/c...,7869040.story

Many motorists nabbed for speeding by a laser gun, instead of radar, are seeing their tickets thrown out at Chicago's traffic court because of a legal issue that the city's law department has been unable to overcome.
Always go to court if you can.

How would you know if you got the Lidar or the standard Radar gun? I wonder if it states it on the ticket

Sure does, usually it's a checkbox if it is Laser vs Radar, at least in Austin they say

It should state clearly on the ticket how the speed was measured.
