100 Acre Wood Rally

Ok, so it's still a bit early, but wanted to let everyone know that rally racing is coming to Missouri again in February '10. Dates are 2/26-27 and we're the second round of only six this year of the Rally-America national series. We're starting in Steelville, MO on Friday and Salem, MO on Sat. and will once again be running the Super Special stage at the Potosi Lions Park (which is the closest stage to the StL area).

We always need tons of volunteers to pull this off, so I hope you'll consider coming down for either or both days. HAM operators and medical personnel are always the hardest to get enough of, so if you know of anybody like that, please let em know we need them. If you'll need a motel, will need to get that soon as they always fill up quick. All of the area motels are listed at www.100aw.org and volunteer registration is open on the website as well (under the worker tab). If you aren't able to volunteer, at least try to make it down to spectate as it's your only chance to see this kind of thing without traveling more than ten hours. Do note that the current schedule listed is last years, but will be similar.

If anybody has any questions, post em here or feel free to email/pm me. I'm the volunteer coordinator.

Ill be there for sure! I havent thought about working the event but I went last year and had an awesome time. The snow was sick! It made driving from one stage to the next like your own rally lol.

I will be there. I signed up in early December to be a worker. It will be my first time to work a rally, so I am very excited. I can't wait until February.

Just a couple of updates. Racing starts on Friday around 3:30 from Steelville City Park parc expose. They will service once there as well. There's five stages on Friday til about 9:30pm
Then Saturday starts at 10am from downtown Salem and the two service breaks are in Viburnum at the High School.

Volunteer registration is at the Salem Fire House right in town on Thursday, from 4-8pm. Then it's at the Salem, MO Holiday Inn Express meeting room Friday from 9-noon and again on Saturday from 6:30-8am. You can sign up online to save some time when you come to reg.

If you can't volunteer, we hope you can come out to spectate a stage or three. There will be one stage right in town in Potosi, MO on Saturday. It's a Super Special, kind of like a rallycross, at the Lions Park on the west edge of town at the intersection of hwys 8 & 185. There will be other spectator areas out in the woods that you will be able to find out about from the slick Spectator Guides that will be available in Salem, Potosi and Steelville areas rally weekend. They should also be listed on the website, but not til right before the rally.

Hope to see you there.

If the weather is fair I might be making the Drive down from Michigan for this. I want to see Ken Block dominate once again only this time in a Ford.

Press passes are difficult to get, but can be had if you have the credentials and are on assignment. They don't really allow freelance anymore. Must contact Rally America for details.

I thought I'd add that Salem, MO is only about an hour and a half outside St Louis. Before I realized I couldn't make it, I was thinking of catching a cheap flight in and getting a rental car for the weekend.
