IL: Some important laws that went into effect 1/1/10

C&P from an e-mail I received:

Two Important New Laws Regarding Driving in Illinois

On January 1, 2010 two important new laws became effective regarding driving while using cell phones or other electronic devices. It is now unlawful to operate a motor vehicle on a roadway while using an electronic communications device to compose, send, or read an electronic message. Furthermore, it is unlawful to use a handheld wireless telephone at any time while operating a motor vehicle on a roadway in a school speed zone or on a highway in a construction or maintenance speed zone.

You could probably be ticketed for them thinking you're texting, but I question if that would hold up in court. Same as a GPS.
