Anyone know a reliable shop in the STL area?

Just picked up an Evo 8 and it is leaking Transfer Case fluid. Anyone know where I could take this to have them inspect to see what the damage report is? I know there is Adrenaline Motorsports in St. Peters, MO. Been there before years ago and they didn't seem too bad, however I don't know if they have the knowledge with Evo's.

Can anyone help me out. I have an Evo 8 needing to be fixed!

Thanks,

Hey, I actually just bought an 8 with a bad t-case too in St. Charles...

I took it to Adrenaline about a month ago and had the case sent to Sheptrans for a Stage 2 build. Long story short, it's been about a month now and I'm still without a car, but it's because of Shep.

As far as Adrenaline, they seem like they know enough to work on Evos... however they seem like more of a Nissan/Honda shop. They put in my t-case, turbo timer, and new ball joints so far, and I should be getting my car back tomorrow. They have offered to tune mine, but they don't have an AWD dyno.

I would recommend giving them a try. Shop rate there is $75 an hour, and they're all pretty nice and helpful.

Good luck sir.

Thanks for the feedback. How much is all this going to cost you? Sounds pretty expensive. I was thinking about just putting some RTV around the leak and see if it goes away. Did your T-Case break? Mine just has a small leak.

My t-case was at the point of no return when I bought it. I needed a new ring and pinion and figured I might as well beef it up a bit while it was out.

All in all, it cost me about $2200 for the rebuild and shipping from Shep, and I was quoted around $450 for labor at Adrenaline. They said it was going to be ready today, so we'll see what the total damage is.

I honestly don't know how much they know specifically about Evos. I asked them and they said they get one in there "every once in a while." It wouldn't hurt to have them look at yours if you need some help.

thanks for the help. I don't think my T-Case is at the point of no return. Did your T-Case give out on you? Whine of death? or was your car not driveable?

I just think I have a bad input seal. I got quoted $500 from the Mits. shop here in O'fallon, IL. I take the car in Thursday so I'll let you know how it goes. I hope it is only $500 or even less. Thing is they are only going off what I am telling them what the problem is. Once I bring them the car, they are going to diagnose what the problem is themselves, which is good. I just hope it isn't any worse than what I got quoted for.

I'll let you know, thanks again for your help!

Always good to know about more places.

There's ET Tuning wayyy down just South of STL. I hear really good things about their alignments and work on German cars from guys at the track.
There's Ron (formerly of axis) now RawPerformance on the IL side that works on a ton of Subarus. I've had him work on my old Subie and do some stuff to my Evo before and he's great and very reasonable. Sometimes a bit hard to reach.

Where is RawPerformance at? I'm going to be needing the Evo tuned shortly after I get home in November.

http://www.raw1performance.com/

I actually called Ron about 1.5 weeks ago and left a message for some install work. He has yet to call me back. So either he's unavailable right now or not interested in the work.

Either way, I'd take the tuning work to someone that is more experienced in tuning Evo's. Up to AMS in Chicago or perhaps S to Mellon Tuning.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll more than likely end up driving to either AMS or Mellon. My parents live about 3 hrs away from BR so I might take it up there once I get back from. I was just hoping to have a shorter drive to get it tuned. Oh well....If I gotta drive then I gotta drive
