Bonehead Dealer
Bonehead Dealer
I visited three dealers before I bought my Evo. One of them was in Michigan City, Indiana. They had a yellow one for sale and they wanted almost $35000. It had the grounding kit ($800), shift knob ($200), gauge surround ($200) and more than a $1000 market adjustment. I took my business to Illinois and I bought my Evo there.
I stopped by the Indiana dealer's service dept because I had a fuse question. I noticed a yellow Evo in the showroom and I asked the service guy if it's the same one from April. He said, "It has a few extras on it and we haven't sold it".
Have you ever seen a car sit in a showroom so long? I am glad there wasn't a sucker dumb enough to buy that padded up Evo.

Yup. There is the silver Evo sitting in Dutchess Mitsu's ( Poughkeepsie, NY ) showroom.
It was the first one they got, back in March or April. I test drove it in June; had them get me my LY evo
from another dealer ( in Westchester NY ).
Same mistake. They screwed every part mitsu offered onto it, which jacked up the price.
To their credit, they didn't place any market adder on the car.
Last time I checked it had about 150 mi on it. All from harsh test drives ( like mine ) I assume.
They won't be able to give it away...
AFAIK, I'm the only one who ever bought an Evo there...

yeap mines was sitting on the lot since last year april.... walked in they tried to get me to pay 31 for it... i told them i wasn't paying that much..on top of that the car alrady had 300 miles on it... end result...me , with car paying 28,385...... out the door.
I don't think
corporate actually wants the dealers to sell all of them. I would think that they would want at least one on the showroom floor just for image and foot traffic. It is far more valuable in that role than a few months on the floor plan. There are 300 other cars on the lot that they need to sell too....
Dealer crazy for keeping at least one around? Ya, crazy LIKE A FOX!

. I went to that dealer when they first received that EVO. It didn't have any additional accessories when I saw it, and they were going to give me a deal on it since I already have an EVO (not a great deal though). Although it probably helped that I drove my EVO up there when I went to look at it. I'm going back up there in a couple weeks to visit some family, I think I'll stop in there to see what is going on.Ryan (MonsterEVO)
