Hey,
I was wondering if there are any good places in the Chicagoland area for engine work on my 03 Lancer. I ask AMS for a quote about 4 weeks ago and still havent heard back i also got a PM from another memeber about AMS never getting back to them. I m wondering if there is any where else i can go? If it takes them over 4 weeks for a quote, how long can i expect my car to be ready?? If any one knows a good place please let me know. Thanks

 

I am sorry that we have yet to get back to guys on your buildups, but they aren't quite as simple and typical as I had thought. Questions have been raised about the reliability of these buildups and quite frankly, I have to sit back and consider these things before I can commit to a price or a date. I am no ttrying to blow you guys off by any stretch, I just want to be as educated as possible on the subject before I jump into it. Like I have told the EVO 8 guys, we try to make it our business to know more a bout their cars than they do so that we can help them in any situation, and if I don't understand all of the in's and out's of your engine/setup how can I help you make educated and costworthy choices on the subject. I will try to get some concrete numbers for your buildups this week.

I've been thinkin Nitrohead and Boiwunder. You think there is any chance in hell RRM would work with you guys at AMS for us locals looking for building up our Lancers? I would even be willing to pay RRM for information if it came to that. I just want my car as safely and as well built as possible. And we all know RRM knows our cars. I've even thought about sending my lancer out to Cali but, doubt that will happen.
