Best chicago dealership for new Evo??
Best chicago dealership for new Evo??
Hi all!
I'm pretty new to the forums but have done a ton of reading here and absolutely love the ridiculous amount of advice and support. I'm not an owner yet (sadly), but am definitely in the market for a new 2011/2012 model and was wondering if anyone had any good experiences at any dealership in the Chicagoland or other nearby dealer? I can't wait to truly be a part of the community here and finally move from having my rather "blah" civic, to one of the most fun cars out there.
Thanks ahead of time for all your help!

Vince at Max Madsen Mitsubishi in Downers Grove, IL was the one who sold me my 2008 Evo MR. He has a 2005 Evo VIII and a 1999 3000GT...AND a 1997 Eclipse GSX so he knows his Mitsu product for sure!
Great experience there.

+1 on South Suburban Mitsubishi. There is a reason they are #1 in the Midwest. I bought my Ralliart from them at a good price and you can wheel n deal with them too. They have a ton of evos & ralliarts at any given time go on their website.

+1 the mitsu dealer on golf road in schaumburg - 'Schaumburg Mitsubishi', duh...i got my '11 ww gsr with, well, basically the mr touring packages but with a 5-speed - leather, sight and sound, sunroof, shifter and ebrake, heated seats, navi (and they haven't shut off my sirius yet either) for about 38k july 4th weekend last year...will obviously be more depending on what taxes you have to pay.
speaking of taxes, if you can get the car registered outside of cook county, DO IT. i registered mine in missouri (parents) and saved about 4k in taxes. monthly payments would have been 120 higher.
i also leased it instead of buying, making it infinitely more affordable month by month - 5k down, 440 a month, 3 year, 36k miles and i'm way behind in my annual mileage allowance. and given how the car motivates spirited driving, throwing them the keys at the end of 3 years isn't all that bad of an idea.
best, dan

oh, and avoid napleton mitsubishi like the @#$%ing herp, i waited for 4 months for the car to be delivered. the guy sold it out from under me once, and it was 'on a ship delayed because of the tsunami' the rest of the time....which turned out to be BS. i had the car within a week from schaumburg.
Scratch that...they have 4 left i guess...when i was there yesterday there were 5 though...

Got my '11 MR there, dealt with Adam...Nice guy, knows his stuff, but the manager there is the real wheeler-and-dealer, so talk with him...he owns a murcielago and is super knowledgeable. Tell them Bryan sent you and if they don't remember me, walk out because I bought mine in September! hahah feel free to PM if you need any other help!
Thank you guys for all the info! I live in the Schaumburg area (home to all car dealerships!) so I'll definitely check them out. Also will look into Biggers and Max Madsen and South Suburban.
I have some wiggle room with regards to when I purchase, is there any time that Mitsu has their deals or is the Evo pretty much off limits from incentives?

I'm a fan of the lease option, especially if you plan on actually driving the car. The car is amazing, but being able to give it back after hammering on it for 3 or 4 years and trading up is a great option.
