Do any of you guys in Chicagoland area have the tools and skills or know of someone that can disable the immobilizer on the ecu of an evo 9?? My car won't start and everything is pointing to it being an immobilizer issue. I will compensate whoever can do this for me. Please pm me if you can help!

How do you know it's the immobilizer? Many different things can cause the car to not start. Any stored codes?

My mechanic's words after he did a timing belt job and replaced the crank sensor :

I have finished the car but it still does not start – no spark or injector signal. I spent about 3 hours on it trying to determine the issue. I believe the problem is in the Immobilizer ECU. I went through the troubleshooting procedure and found that the Immobilizer light on the dash does not light up when the key is turned on. If I ground the wire that goes to the light, it does light up. The next step in the procedure is to replace the Immobilizer ECU. This needs to be programmed to the car which is something I cannot do. At this point you need to take the car to a shop or dealer to have this part replaced & programmed.

My car hasnt started for a couple months now. Car cranks but get no spark or fuel. I thought the new crank sensor would fix it but still nothing. Also already replaced exhaust cam sensor. No stored codes.
