Gingerman Track Day, ATTN Michigan EVOs!
I'm planning on going to Gingerman for a Test & Tune evening on May 6th. If any other EVO guys out there are interested, you're very welcome to come along. I'm not sure how many of us are going yet, definitely me and my one buddy (both in silver EVO's), but probably some other co-workers as well. We'll be leaving Southfield, MI, around lunch time and head west on 94. It's about a 3 hour drive, each way. The T&T session is 5:30pm-8:30pm, $60, and a helmet is required (helmet specs don't matter though). If you've never been there, check it out at http://www.gingermanraceway.com. Reservations are NOT required.. just show up at the track around 5pm.
I've been going in my Z for a few years now, and have always had a blast. I took my EVO there one time at the end of last season. They'll divide however many people show up into groups of a dozen or so and run 20 minute heats. The last 5 or 6 times I've been there, only about a dozen cars showed up, so they just open up the track and let you go at it without any heats. Usually it's a little more crowded in the early season though. Passing is by signal only, only on the two straightaways. It's a very safe track compared to Waterford Hills (tons of runoff on all turns but one), but I suppose you could get into trouble anywhere if you put your mind to it.
Anyways, if you plan on going, speak up. And if you want to meet up along the way for the long drive west, PM me and I'll give you my cell number.
There's usually people there from Chicago as well (it's actually closer to Chicago than Detroit).. if anyone from that area is interested, speak up!

Hi Rob,
Myself and two other friends will be going there this coming Wednesday, 4/28 if it does not rain. This will be my first time at a track. The other cars will be a Stock STI and a 911 turbo. I can't wait to se how the Evo is going to do.

Rob, you know I'll be there. even with my roof ballast. Finally we'll be able to see how much you've gained with your ecu and boost controller. It might just be enough to keep up with my driving skills

Rob,
Tried sending you a PM, but it's not going thru. sth like you've chosen not to accept PMs. Anyway, let me know if you're still going. I may be able to make it. Send me a PM if you can with your cell phone and email address and I'll get back to you.
