Sure looks that way... he was at 39.829,
Closest scoobies got was 39.884+dnf for Gary, but he DNFed past the finish lights. He had a fast, clean run and ended up running out of brakes and traction past the finish resulting in cone carnage

I should mention that Pete has a similar issue, but menaged to stop the car ahead of the cones, then backed out and went on his way

More on Gary's problems (from the horses mouth) :

The 39.884 and 40.611 were both completely clean runs thru the timing lights. The car was completely flat and settled a couple feet after the lights, but it simply WOULD NOT STOP. Note that the run-off area was a bit shorter than normal, pointed straight at the timing van, and with a 90 degree turn at the end. Anyway, the first time I managed to stop the car about 1 foot AFTER the end wall. The second time, the car still had so much speed when I was running out of room that I cut the car left to avoid endangering anyone near the timing van (I wouldn't have hit anything, but it would've given everyone a big scare).

Considering all the braking problems we have had this year, coupled with the finicky ABS, I didn't immediately recognize the source of the problem, or I wouldn't have repeated it. It turns out that the miniscule WRX brake booster was completely devoid of vacuum at this point as I came through the finish, so I had purely manual brakes. My left leg simply wasn't enough to stop the car in the required distance. The pedal was so hard (and I wasn't slowing nearly fast enough) I thought it was at the firewall, so I released it for a moment, and then slammed it back. Perhaps if I hadn't released for that moment, or if I had thrown both feet on the pedal, I could have stopped. Or then again, I could've broken the pedal (not acceptable).

The lack of vacuum is characteristic of a turbo car that is left-foot-braked... the sweeper leading to the finish demanded some braking to turn the car in while remaining on the throttle.

Be more specific as to street tire (STX runs on street tires)... as to numbers, 1-20 are reserved for top 20 finishers from last year, however, they are not mendatory - nothing stopping, say Gary (#19) from running with whatever number he wants.

What's on the 25th? (the SCCA Event 4 "Another Wackola Surprise!" was moved to the 24th )

And, oh yeah, i could use another buck

I didn't realize that event was moved...I guess I have to pay closer attention.

My reasoning behind the class/tire requests is so I am not competing against drivers that have placed so high in the rankings that I don't have a fighting chance.

But otherwise game on!!!

Any chance one of the Integra masters would go for a ride along on one of my runs, like runs 2-4 for a critique of my driving? I know that much horsepower may scare you, but I would really appreciate the insight of a pro-driver. I would even pay another buck for the advice

Thanks, Jerry
