Can a tuned Evo with a Check Engine Light on perform worse than a tuned Evo without a CEL? Both cars have the same exhaust and intake setups, but one is pulling 30 more whp than the other. While being tuned, one had the CEL and pulled 306 whp, the other while being tuned had NO CEL and pulled 336 whp.

Any advice or answers would be greatly appreciated. Can not figure out the difference and whether or not a CEL can decrease performance.

do u only have intake/exhuast on the cars or do u have supporting mods? Also was this on the same dyno?

 

We all have the same mods. Intake, DP, cat-delete, exhaust. Yes this was all on the same dyno.

 

I would open this up to a wider audience. Post it in the "engine" or the appropriate tuner forum. Even the general evo forum would be better.

 

the cell light will do nothign to the performance at ALL to the car whatsoever.......its just letting you know somehtings not all there

 

a cel can be triggered by tons of things, I have one from the big cams and what not in the car. Get it on a wideband and check it that way cuz it sounds more or less like an A/F ratio thing. Hope that helps =/
