I will need to scrub in some new tires so I will probably be down on Wednesday. I will probably bring the Evo as a support vehicle.

lame. Run with lotus guys then, man. I don't really need to know how much faster your track car is than my evo.

A couple things you should be aware of.

1) Wednesday evenings each week are setup for test and tune time for cars at 2nd Creek. It is not specifically for Evos.
2) I have absolutely nothing to prove in regards to the capabilities of the Caterham vs the Evo. I thought it was interesting that some people from EvoM were going to head down to the track. I mistakenly assumed that most Evo owners were also into cars, would understand what I was anticipating bringing, and actually find it interesting. I, in turn, was also interested in checking out some of the local cars to see what mods they had and also meet the owners.
3) I also politely asked if it were ok for me to bring something aside from my Evo, as if I actually needed permission. I saw this as a tactful way to both introduce myself and potentially bring about a discussion about 2nd Creek as well as the anticipated cars that would show up. Instead of any reasonable response I get “Lame” and “go play with your own kind”.

Thanks for being so friendly. There are more cars out there than just the Evo – Try and broaden your horizons.

I didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings but if you noticed, this thread is in an EVO forum inviting EVOs to an open track day. I'm into cars and bikes, don't get me wrong, but I don't think that this track day that may or may not happen should be about "Let's chase the track car." That's a good way for inexperienced drivers to scrub the hell out of their tires, overheat their brakes, spin their cars around, etc. Your car is not in the same class as ours, and I would like to run with you, but I think there would be more benefit from people simply testing their cars by going up against similar, if not identical, spec cars. Sounds kind of lame, I know, but you gotta understand that the whole point of this is not to chase vipers or ultralights around. I can't say that I can speak for any of the other guys at all, but me personally, I've never been on a track, so to try and follow your line or the line of another car that's not like mine would just be an exercise in frustration. That's all.
That being said, of course you can bring whatever you want up to 2nd creek, but I don't want to run with you for the above reasons. Sorry if I sound like a dick head.

I have run several Wednesday evenings in the past. Usually many different types of cars show up and it is good fun. I completely agree with you that it is a bad idea to get competitive with other cars, especially if you are new to track driving. This was never my intention.
There is a good chance I will make Wednesday evening, assuming that my new set of tires arrives. If you would like, I am more than happy to take passengers and show you the line I use. This may not be the correct line for the Evo but it will be a safe line and not a bad starting point. Hopefully there will be other Evo owners at 2nd Creek that have had experience at the track, as they might be a good resource for you to draw on.

Note: If you anticipate driving on Wednesday, make sure you bring a long sleeve shirt, pants and a helmet. I believe that the track office might have one spare helmet but it is so nasty that I wouldn’t recommend it.

Does this happen every Wednesday? I've been wanting to get out to Second Creek for a while, but have never been on a track other then Bandimere's 1/4.

Edit **Sorry if this is a noob question.**

Yes, it usually happens on Wednesdays. Sometimes it is canceled for special events and track maintenance, etc. -- so it is always worth calling first.

Check out the following for more info:

http://www.2ndcreekraceway.com/info/test.html

You will notice that on the schedule there is a Multi Car Club event coming up on the 14th and 15th. These events are usually a lot of fun. If you want more info I will post it when I have it in front of me or you can call 2nd Creek and request contact info.

Hey JTB...I would like to see that line or learn about what you were describing. I have never driven on a track but would like to learn and I would be more than willing to learn from your experience. I have an evo and I am interested in any car and anyone that has useful and helpful hints...please do not think that all evo owners are bad.

Did anyone make it out yesterday? I arrived at about 6pm and ran until dark. Aside from the excessive amount of mosquitoes it was a lot of fun, as always.

There is still room on Saturday with the Multi Car Club if anyone is interested in running. It should be well organized with more safety than just your standard Wed evening. Let me know if anyone is interested and I will post some contact info.

I will be there.

Smokey,
You should come out on Saturday, if not to drive then just to check things out. I am more than happy to give you a ride. It costs nothing to be a spectator and if you like what you see I am sure they would let you on the track -- for a fee of course. It is not about ego as some people with disabled accounts seem to believe , but instead its about a bunch of cars guys hanging out and having fun.

If you do decide to come, look for the green car and bring a helmet.
