Import Wars @ Great Lakes Dragaway Sept. 26

Hey guys I want to get as many evos and overall just a ton of cars out to import wars on Sunday, September 26, 2004 at Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, WI. Check out the link below for the details. Tell your (jealous) friends without evos about it too. Its usually a great time and it'll be even better to see all the evos kickin' butt on the track. The more cars the better. There are usually a bunch of STI's out there so let's go show them up.

Also I talked to the guy whose evo will be featured on Tuner Transformation and he said that he will be there with his "transformed" evo. (He lives in Gurnee, IL.) You'll get a sneak preview of his car as the show airs on September 28th on Speed Channel.

I'll see you at the track. Please post a note so we know how many people intend on going.

BTW: I don't work for the track or have anything to do with it, I just want to see a good representation of our cars there that day.

Me, Fireball, vittiorio, fchang were down there for the last import war, and I was not impressed. I would rather make the 1.5 hour drive to Route 66 for a much better track, and probably better timing. GLD is horrible, not worth my $15 to spectate. Although I do have video of fcheng's white evo slaughtering a blue WRX.

Gld

Well if a ton of people show up it should be cool. That's why I want to get some people out there. Not just evos but any tuners. I agree that seeing the same dozen cars run down the track can get pretty boring. So tell your friends. I know it can be lame, but it's close and we can make it better.

If there are any events at Rt. 66 that you know about let me know, I'll be happy to drive down.

I too have run at GLD and that track really blows. Their management was terrible and they didn't bother to set up a bracket race for my group (over 15 cars) when they promised they would. GLD gets a big thumbs down from me. You'd be better off at Byron in Chicago.

I had a friend race at the last Import Wars and he said that it was no good. Only made three passes all day, and was too crowded.

Not a huge fan of import wars at all. I entered and the quick 16 class isnt even quick 16. its still brakcet racing. I ended up getting knocked out in the second round because they gave me somebody elses Dial in...and there excuse was "not our fault you shouldnt of left the line" $65 I can never have back. when that event grows up they will get my money again. untill then I dont think you will be seeing too many AMS cars there.

Well I've only had my evo for two months, made minimal mods and I want to see what she'll do with basically a stock setup. I've been out there before but have never run. I know it's a pretty sh!tty place to run but it's the closeset thing to my house (15 min.) and we are running out of good weather fast here in the midwest. I also talked to Jeff whose car will be featured on "Tuner Transformation" on speed channel, and he said he is coming, so that will be cool to see what the Vishnu guys did to his car. I'm also trying to get my friend and his 9 second Yamaha turbo sled out to race but I don't know if his sponser will be cool with that. Hopefully he can do some "testing" that day. I hope to see as many people out there despite the horrible track.
