SCCA Fontana ProSolo Round 1 - Evos podium finish
SCCA Fontana ProSolo Round 1 - Evos podium finish
At the first event of the ProSolo 9 race series, Evos had podium finishes.
In Street Modified Navid Kahangi came in a close second to the SM National Champion Vic Sias in his monster M3 by only .362 secs. Navid's engine management wasn't fully tuned for his new motor configuration.
I won Street Touring Ultra over past National Champion Steve O'blenes driving a M3, by .380 secs. Steve was the STU San Diego National Tour winner the week before.
I had around .56x reaction times with 1.8xx 60 fts, and Navid had 1.6xx 60 ft times.

Congrats on your win Richard!
It was definitely an interesting weekend. We just put a new block, head, intake manifold, cams, injectors and a bunch of other things in the car on Thursday and did not get a chance to tune the car. The engine felt strong anyway, so we headed down to the pro anyway with our fingures crossed
.
It turned out we ended up with the fastest door-banger time (prepared, SP and SM2 included) minus Vic's last run. Vic is a good friend of mine, but he did not deserve 2 re-runs on the left side
. One was a timing problem but the other one should not have been a re-run. I only have myself to blame though. If I was clean on my best run on the left, it wouldn't have mattered. Oh well, I got him on the right.
All and all, I'm really pleased with the car's first showing with the new engine. I'd like to thank Mike Warfield of Gruppe-s for building the bottom end for this engine and get it done in time to make the pro. I can't wait to tune this engine and see what it can do.

Thanks Navid,
Always good seeing you again. I didn't want to spill the beans about your new motor mods
I heard you had the FTD on Sat. I hope we can both do well at the Atwater Pro too.

Too bad I could not carry the Saturday lead into the second day because I had a 10.5 lead in SM. We ran at the worst part of the rain storm. I was sitting at the line between my runs when they stopped the event and pulled the workers in. 2.2s 60 foot time in standing water. You gotta love AWD!

With his 2 reruns, he had 7 runs on the left side, I only got 4 cracks at it.--Navid
