group buy on ferodo brake pads?

FCP 1334 (front) DS2500 $165/set
FCP 1282 (rear) DS2500 $69/set

That is the quote I got from RaceShopper. Maybe if we get 5 people or more for a set, we can get a discount?

He said the DS3000's are for race only. I just want something streetable (that won't chew up my rotors when cold), but work well at the track as well....so this is what he suggested.

please post if interested.

I have ordered some from Edwin @ raceshopper... awaitiing my cousin to bring them to Jamaica. Great online store, prompt response to email and good customer service. I for one will NOT be looking anywhere else for brake pads in the future.

Hmm... I prefer the Hawk HP+ pads, and they are $128 front / $81 rear on Tirerack...

Hi 2Cool, do you have these Hawk pads on your car now? in what way do you think they are better? I ordered these instead of the ferrodo DS2500s (from raceshopper.com) :
Hawk HB 180.640 F $63 (rear)
Hawk HB 193.670 F $98 (front)

I have not had the time to fit them yet.... I will let you guys know how it goes as soon as I get my car back.

The listing I have is HB 180N640 for the rear, and HB 193N670 for the fronts. Not sure of the model # differences Hawk uses, but the plus pads are excellent for street/race use, and also are lower dust than the OEM pads. I have them as of today, and will be installing them early next week. Several friends use them on their club racing and solo 1 cars, with very good results. So for Solo II use they should be overkill... which is a good thing!

thanks for the reply, these are the same Hawk HPS pads that you have. look foward to hearing your opinions...

The benefits of the HPS pads are :
*Extremely low dusting
*High friction/torque hot or cold
*Gentle on rotors
*Very quiet, low noise
*Improved braking over OE pads
*Extended pad life

The DS2500's are very capable pad- very suitable for daily driving/autoxing and occasional track days (the 3000 would be a better choice for a track pad). They have good cold bite, dusting is moderate and thus far easy on rotors. They have a good friction coefficient- .47 and a good range of operating temps 0- 1200 F. I was running the Endless CCX which is a wonderful pad also, but twice the cost of the Ferodo (w/ a slightly higher operating temp, but also higher minimum temp.) These are on a WRX but should provide some usefulness.
