To buy coilovers...or just springs...
I was thinking of getting a set of coilovers... but then I began thinking that, I dont autocross or any thing of that nature. Should I just cheap out for a set of S-Tech springs? How will the stock shocks/struts hold up to this, I hear just fine- but ive learned this the hard way. I lowered an Integra I had & 6 months later, my mechanic told me I had 2 frozen struts, 1 other was leaking, and the last one was questionable. I dont want the same thing to happen here. What do you recommend?
get yourself a set of swift springs and call it a day.
If you really don't track your car and just want to lower the car for asthetic purpose swift should be a great choice.
BTW, tein s-tech's are one of the worst springs for the evo.
They are almost softer than the stock springs and you will bottom out with that much front drop, plus you'll not be gaining any handling.

The S Techs are way too soft for the amount they drop (hence why they're a realy bad spring.) I don't autocross and I still went with Tein Flex's (twin tube.) Sometimes I wish I went with just some springs and other days I don't. Swift springs and Espelir springs seem to work well with the stock suspension (I think the struts are over dampened for the stock springs.)
If you aren't tracking or auto-xing the car there's no real reason to get coilovers. We have our own springs coming out in a few weeks, which don't lower quite as much as the Swifts and the rates are a bit higher as well. You can use them on the stock struts and they will work very nicely. If you want the ultimate in ride quality, pairing them with either MR Bilsteins or Ohlins fixed perch would be even better.

Don't get Tein S-tech, without going into too much details probably the worst type of springs you can waste your money on. You can get the GTWorx springs that are coming out shortly (seemed to be very well designed) or the coilovers listed in my sig (cheap for the quality they provide)
