I'm serious. If you search I'm sure you'll find people saying the same thing.

You have seen how thin and flimsy those things are right?

You can get pretty much any set of aftermarket (Cusco, GTspec, ect) lower arm braces for your car, most of them you will have to shim to achieve clearance between them and a 3in DP. However the ones below are advertised as providers of additional clearance for larger DP's. (You can try to source some used stock lower arm bars!!!)

The Carbing bar lower arm brace is advertised as having clearance for 3in DP's without having to use washers as shims.

There is also the RMR K brace which I have read and it is advertised as being able to provide the necessary clearance for 3in DP's.

Another option is the Perrin sub frame brace which replaces the front stock lower arm bar, this one has a notch to provide extra clearance.

Finally with regards to the statement that the stock ones don't do much; when I installed my AMS TBE, I went out for a test drive, on my way back I took a hard turn, (one that I make at least 2 or 3 times a week) making my way to my apartment, understeer was awful, understeer which was never there before and understeer which I haven't experienced since, because the stock lower arm bars went back in.

those two are supposed to help with rigidity during hard acceleration. I doubt they do much though.

I have the carbing underbrace...this thing clears my AMS DP with a lot of room to spare.

You need them.

Find a replacement or get the stockers back.

You sure can drive around without them no problem, but I would not say that they are useless. They do a great job at reducing chassis flex especially in corners; try running a road course or autocross on sticky r-compound without them and you'll apreciate their functionality. I'd rather say that the upgraded ones are the ones that do not do much more than the stockers.
